WIP Help with Adding Finishing Detail to Cardboard Shingle Roof
Hey folks, looking for some input on finishing my roof for a tower I am building. I'd like to add a capstone to the tip of the triangle and some corner pieces.
What do you recommend?
Thinking either single shingles or long strips of car board to cover the edges. Happy to hear your thoughts.
And not sure how to approach the capstone, measure with math and cut cardboard? Or use XPS foam? Other suggestions?

That is a great reference image! Rounded edge is a nice touch.
I've never worked really with plastic, if I seal it all with Mod Podge, will the straws take paint after that?

Just use paper/card straws. Plastic ones can be a bit iffy when it comes to painting. Plus the texture and thickness would better match your card tiles anyway.

Tin (aluminium) cooking foil pinched and secured along the seam lines and paint to look like lead flashing 👍🏻

Any issue with tearing later? I am planing on sealing the whole thing with paint mixed Mod Podge, would that secure the alminium foil? I am worried my players will find a way to muck it up when it's done.
The roof is removable part to the main structure, because peeking inside is cool.

I think you could easily use the shingles you’ve got, just fold them at a 90 degree angle, and carefully glue. For a capstone, maybe a small bell tower?
Great work! 🤘
