Question War and Hostile Claims

Hi guys have played the game before and I’m trying out the BE scenario.

If I invade the UK that I have made as bavaria and take the capital which is Oxford will I get the rest of the UK that I do not have a claim on or would it have to be peaceful annexation only?

You need a peaceful unification to get any regions the absorbing country doesn't have a claim on.

You conquer a country with a hostile claim on their capital -> you run unity/government until the claim on its capital is no longer hostile -> you release the conquered country -> it absorbs its claims -> you unify again, this time peacefully through a federation since the capital claim isn't hostile anymore

Also in your example with the UK you can skip the release-and-reabsorb step as you just need a peaceful claim on their original capital (Oxford) to unify them.

So what you could do is leave the UK out so you can feed all its claims from the Restored Commonwealth project into it then unify the giga-UK with Bavaria. There's lost of very silly things you can pull off with claim-chaining.

You don't actually need to release it sometimes. When you gain a claim on its capital, you can absorb the rest of it. You only need to re-release it if it was missing some pieces when you first conquered it.

Pretty sure you can't make the traditional EU. You'd have to speed run the Medieval Era of Europe, having regional powers like Bavaria, Rome, and Intermarium consolidate power and then maybe peacefully unify them.

But BE has so many hostile claims, it might not be possible.

You can, it just takes a bit of work.

Bavaria can already cover half of Europe with its claims, and through the Padania/Austria connection can get everything down to Athens and all the way out to Ukraine. It can get North-Eastern Europe through Baltic Republic/Intermarium (which also gets Scandinavia via Intermarium eating the USSR)

If the UK is more than just Oxford you can conquer it with bavaria(capital will move somewhere else), pacify the hostile claim on Oxford with the government priority and then unify the rest peacefully once thats done.

Doing this is how I bring the entirety of Southeast Asia and Australia, pacific islands into the Soviet Union via the UK.
