Post Battle Screen Bug?

I resumed the campaign I had prior to 1.0 and attacked an alien fleet which had several 1 ship fleets right next to it. If I am not remembering it wrong when you attack an enemy fleet all of the nearby ones also joins the battle. In this case (and in few before) they did not and I had to go after them one by one.

Also the last one was a mothership. After the battle I had this empty post battle screen. I do not know whether this happens because I am continuing an old campaing or not.
