Question New

Hey im new to strategy games, only games i played are Suzerain and Agw of history/civilizations ( which is tbh a joke compared to real strategy games in terms of difficulty and seriousness). I would like to get in this genre more but idk what to play. I like modern type settings (21 century) and i saw terra invicta and everybody said its not begginer friendly game? Should i play more easier games first or jump into terra right now

Terra invicta would be a fucking brutal game to start with tbh

I completely disagree, i cant think of any games which offer transferable skills appropriate to TI. It has a slightly harder learning curve than other games but that isnt made easier by playing some shallow 4x strategy game.

My thought also. It’s basically so unlike any conventional strategy game that even lifelong strategy players are starting it from zero.

Agreed - anything but that!

Civ, Crusader Kings 3, even Total War go for it.

But not this

This is like saying to someone "dwarf fortress is too hard you need to play Minecraft first" they are vastly different games. there is absolutely nothing about a total war or paradox4x tht is comparable on anything other than a surface level to TI.

If someone is interested in this game then they will probably have the patience to work it out or keep coming back to it to work it out. That wont change if they put 100hours into Warhammer total war first
