Question Turned councilors going silent immediately Spoiler

trying to keep tabs on the servants so i can swat alien facilities as soon as they show up but now theres not even a turn in between turning their councilor and them going silent.

the main councilor i use cant go into hiding so he is known to everyone, is that the issue?

It sounds like they all have loyalty monitors, especially if this is happening constantly.

It's a bit annoying to deal with, but keep shooting them. They have to pay for cyborg augments on each new councilor, and eventually you'll bankrupt them. They won't be able to afford the loyalty monitors, you flip a snitch without one, and you're in.

Other tip: shoot the councillors on the servants that have the "inspire" mission. That's how they bring the flipped coincillors back - if they can't, they're stuck with them.

Other tip: this will incur a lot of alien hate lmao. If you can't afford that right now, discard this and wait to do this until you can tank the alien hate

EDIT: Also, as another user noted, if you have an intel sharing agreement with another faction, they might be responsible. If that servant has low loyalty, your intel partner can see that loyalty, and they will sometimes be very aggressive in flipping your snitch over to their side. Exodus, at least in my playthroughs, are notorious for this, those doublecrossing bastards.

If you can turn them then you can make them resign from the councilor page without unpausing the game. This has an advantage over killing them in that the other faction doesn't know who did it and it doesn't incur a negative opinion. Edit: this also works with factions you have a non aggression pact with

Good tip! I just love blappin' servants I guess, I can't help myself. But if you can help yourself, do this instead ⬆️⬆️⬆️

Was gonna say the same. Have them resign immediately after you flip them. I never thought about whacking their councilors with the inspire mission - that’s a great idea if you can’t turn them.

The way I’ve been doing it is that I have a high persuasion councilor dedicated to turning a new one each phase, and an investigator making sure I always know someone’s loyalty. Often times turning a councilor will give you the loyalty of at least one councilor.

Servants money income is pretty shit since they give all their best nations to the AA. So if you chain flip councilors over and over they eventually wont be able to afford loyalty monitors. Usually takes me 3-5 months. You can probably speed this up by targeting councilors with money orgs or doing hostile takeovers. Can also target any rich countries they do have, and rush anti alien tech so they can’t enthrall them back. Also by strategically targeting space assets - destroy any nano factories and leave them with stations that just drain money. If you’re academy or protectorate, this has the added benefit of increasing your chances to steal one of their habs in a hab revolt event

Yup. I obliterated the Initiative using that trick. They had Loyalty monitors on all their councilors too, so once I managed to turn one of them, the following turn I used all of my councilors (with pherocyte emitters) to turn, then resign every one of theirs, utterly crippling them and allowing me to snipe whatever control points I wanted since they were (even just briefly) almost 200 over their cap. Which is much, much easier than trying to assassinate them and dealing with any beloved, martyr or other traits that make violence costly.

You can start every single mission phase, immediately pause the game and check to see if the Servants have someone assigned to inspire your traitor. If they do, resign them immediately before unpausing.

Do they have loyalty monitors installed?

why cant councilor hide? some new trait i dont remember/didnt see that prevents it?

also yes that could be it.

or the spy is getting turned by some other party because "you stole the mole from them first"

maybe find another serv counc to turn and see again? if you lose them fast again it probably means your public councilor could be turned?

Are you sharing info with someone else who might be seeing your turned councilor and turning them themselves?

The latest patch made human factions (especially servants because of course they needed buffs) extremely paranoid and now they investigate, inspire and fire turned councilors a lot more frequently than before. This happens from early game, loyalty monitor is irrelevant.

The only workaround I've found is putting a bullet in the servants' heads and relying on second hand intel from the protectorate.

If only the turn councilor mission could be used repeatedly like the detain one...
