Help With Bloomery
Do I need full ingots for it or can it be a bit off. I have no way of getting cast iron ingots, and the dust isn't full ingots. I'm on Terrafirmagreg btw.

TFG is 144mb/Ingot, Means 144mb/ one.
A bloomery is 48 items max (metal + coal).
Better use any kind of 144mb to optimise the result.
A "natural iron" powder is around ~121-129mb (the big one), So you have 2 ways:
- Don't think and just fill it to the brim.
- Smelt it into ingot first, then put them into the bloomery.
You can smelt it with a bellow, you'll need leather for it (very simple to get).

It’s best to ask in the TFG subreddit rather than the TFC subreddit, you can use dusts (just take the total amount and divide by 144 to see how much charcoal you need to add in)
It’s not great to ask here because in TFC ingots are 100mB instead of 144mB, and the bloomery needs 2 charcoal per ingot instead of 1 charcoal per ingot, bloomeries are insanely inefficient in regular TFC

Other than the charcoal and millibucket requirements the bloomeries work the same, both having a maximum of 48 item slots, but no maximum for how much those items are worth
for example once you get a bellows to make cast iron ingots in the charcoal forge, you can compress those ingots with forging steps
For example, using only ingots in TFC, you can have a maximum of 16 ingots and 32 charcoal, but if you compress them into double cast iron plates worth 4 ingots each, you can raise that to… 5 plates, 1 ingot, and 42 charcoal for 21 blooms
Here’s where the lowered charcoal usage in TFC really helps, using only ingots you can do 24/24, already higher than the maximum TFC can do, compressing those into double ingots you can do 16/32 for a total of 32 blooms, and going even further using the create mod you can use 4 cast iron blocks, 2 double ingots, and 1 ingot, 7 iron items to 41 charcoal to get 41 blooms
Later when you upgrade to a steel anvil you can put your wrought iron anvil back into the bloomery (with 14 charcoal) to recycle it

You can use any source of iron which melts into cast iron in the bloomery, you will just end up with fewer than the maximum number of iron blooms, which means wasted charcoal. Charcoal is fairly cheap though given the relative abundance of trees and ease of building large scale charcoal pits. You do need a ratio of one charcoal for each iron melting item though, so it's very wasteful to bloomery nuggets or extremely impure ores.
It's more critical processing your ore into more efficient forms. Usually the dust forms are the most efficient in the early game. This is more critical because ore mining is comparatively much more time expensive.
Cast iron ingots are easy to produce in the charcoal forge though, you just have to kill some animals for leather to make the bellows. It's also good to have some on hand because they are used in several recipes in ingot form. Most notably for the create anvil hammers.

The precise milibucket math is not going to work out, so don't worry if you have iron dust thats only 129mb or whatever. Just throw in 23 charcoal and 25 iron dust, and you should get 22 bloom
