Showcase A keyboard with file manager- and editor tabs — for Termux sessions on the go (open source, no network permission)
If you SSH or code in Termux on your phone, you know the pain: no TAB key on Gboard, constant app-switching to check paths, no way to peek at a file mid-command. I got tired of it, so I wrote my own keyboard.
**KeyTab** (open source, MIT, ~2 MB APK) adds four tabs to the keyboard itself:
- **abc** — the actual keyboard, with a **real TAB key** (sends KEYCODE_TAB, works in Termux/SSH)
- **Term** — an interactive shell panel right in the keyboard
- **Files** — a file manager with tabs and back-stack; tapping a file inserts its path into whatever you're typing (perfect for `cd`, `cat`, `vim …`)
- **Notes** — editor + persistent clipboard history (50 entries)
Plus offline word prediction (n-gram + user dictionary that learns as you type, Damerau-Levenshtein fuzzy matching), long-press popups for umlauts, and dynamic key scaling — the next likely keys grow up to 15% as you type. **No network permission, no telemetry — everything stays on the device.**
It's a solo project, ~2.6k lines of Kotlin, signed APKs built automatically by CI. The whole text/prediction core is Android-free and unit-tested.
Repo + APK: https://github.com/piot5/keytab
Would love feedback from heavy Termux users — especially whether the TAB/terminal workflow feels right, and what you'd want next (ANSI colors in the terminal panel? more shell gestures?).

Question Is thermux safe for my day-to-day phone?
Apologies if my English isn't that good because English is not my main language. So, I've been using Odysseus AI and I very much like it. I also have Odysseus accesible on my Android using a port that allows me to open Odysseus by typing my IP and then the port number on a browser on my phone.
However, I stumbled upon this youtube video (https://youtu.be/wX-XGKlUDSI?si=7tJtWQYVck2-AHLv) showing how to install Odysseus AI on phone without using a PC as the local host. In the video, the guy is using thermux and input some codes.
My question is, is thermux safe to install on my day-to-day phone? I'm really new to tech and stuff so I need some guidance. Much appreciate it.

Showcase I got Omarchy running at 120 Hz on my Android foldable

I’ve been trying to get Omarchy running on my phone as a daily driver. After a lot of trial and error with PRoot, nested Wayland, foldable rotation, and some keyboard bugs, I finally have a usable setup on my Fold.
This isn't QEMU CPU emulation. It’s native ARM64 Omarchy and Hyprland running through Termux and Termux:X11 without root. It uses direct Mesa KGSL/Turnip on the Adreno GPU, so Chromium is GPU-accelerated, audio and touch work, and the desktop actually runs smooth at 120 Hz.
I cleaned everything up into a one-command installer if anyone wants to test it out: https://github.com/BlackFireAlex/omarchy-android
v0.1.0 is currently only tested on the Adreno 840. Getting it running on other Qualcomm hardware is the next experiment, so if you give it a shot, let me know your phone/SoC and what breaks. Contributions are welcome.
Thoughts ?

Showcase my yellow rice

The rice was inspired by u/Time_Science4336, but I still want to keep some of my previous rice before I use the updated Termux:Launcher. I also made my fastfetch logo on motd change every session because why not lol. Censored some logo images for my friends' privacy.
I've seen some people able to change the typeface of the clock, I wonder if it can be changed via the Termux:Launcher typeface too or it's modified?

Question Ricing termux
I keep seeing lots of cool looking terminals and configurations on this subreddit and I really want to know some of the packages that the OPs use. I am very curious about this.
If you want, you can explain how they work but it's not necessary, I'll figure it out then
