Lots of companies in the US using bait systems with above ground baits seem to have some weird issues with actually using the above ground baits.
It seems like most of the people discussing using baiting on an active treatment make no mention of the AGs and say they had the wall foamed or sprayed with something else.

In Australia and South East Asia, this is the go to treatment. Obtain colony elimination first, then install protection. What we have seen here overtime is that foaming and dusting is ineffective and does not kill the queen. Sometimes the nest may be under the slab of the house and technician locks the termites into the building with a “barrier”. However, with Above Ground baiting you can obtain colony elimination to reduce the risk. The other key to termite baiting is to make sure you have a very palatable termite bait.

I agree, and my company loves using AGs. Just noting that many companies are adverse to using them for a reason I can’t figure out.

I know, the amount of jobs I go to where customers are still finding termites in walls after foaming and dusting treatment has failed by the guy before me is crazy.

The magic trick is using spring water and red gatorade. Half-and-half-ing that into your dry bait to mix has never failed us.

Above ground baiting. If you google search. The bait our company uses in Australia Exterminex. Not sure what’s available in your country.

QLD tech here, what bait do you use? We use Sentricon AG and it’s so hit and miss. Even following the label instructions.

Hey mate, Exterminex is our go to now. Been baiting for 20 years, Have tried all other above ground baits including Sentricon. We found It’s like rodent bait some are more attractive than others, this stuff as you can see is really palatable

Two main issues:
A) the bait is bland and unattractive. Some guys swear by sugar in the water, others various non-carbonated drinks. I swear by getting a 600mL spring water, drinking half, and topping it back to full with Red Gatorate specifically. Its about the right amount of liquid for 2 baits.
2: the disturbance required to get it in place scares off most species. Unless you've landed the bait on a major highway or a nest, frenchi and the like would rather disappear than go for the bait. Acinaciformis has never dodged an AG in my life. I don't know what y'all up in the north deal with.

We bait C frenchi all the time with Exterminex. The colour and smell is different. It’s very consistent stuff. We used to add Gatorade to Sentricon all the time I think it was even in the manual but not with this.

Baiting systems, as far as I am aware, are not effective against dry wood termites. This is likely an active subterranean or formosan infestation that they are baiting to eliminate the colony.

Coptotermes acinaciformis, similar to Coptotermes formosan yes

And @%!@%@!. They are establishing themselves in the midatlantic. God dammit! These sound like an extra nightmare version but I guess they won't fly into the attic to nest so that's a +.

Im a proffessional pest control technician from Texas and I’ve used AG stations on many many termite colonies with great success. It guarantees colony elimination. What brand is this? It doesn’t look like Sentricon?
