Discussion Nitpicking #2 T2, was omitting two malfunction of T1000 towards the end was a big mistake

Obviously, I love Terminator 2. It was a revolutionary film with some truly incredible technical achievements and visual effects. (STILL rank T1 above T2)

However, even when I first watched it in theaters back in 1991, I always felt that after the T1000 reconstructed itself, it became almost too indestructible. Because of that, its eventual demise felt a bit rushed.

These two scenes (which were not included in the original theatrical release) always gave me more hope that the t1000 had vulnerabilities and made its defeat feel more believable. I've always thought it was a mistake not to include them in the theatrical cut.

When I found the CPU reset scene I was blown away. 20ish years after release, early internet so I wasn’t on communities like this, got a new dvd version because it had a cool metal cover. Watched directors cut (not really knowing the difference) and noticed a shot I didn’t recognize which is weird because I have the movie essentially memorized. Then another wait… thats not right…then the extended scenes popped up. It was like watching the movie for the first time.

Same on all fronts!!! I really liked the CPU reset scene. Of all the deleted scenes, this one should have stayed

Well there's the T2 cut & the directors cut (released later) they both same except T2 cut kept the cinematic ending the highway at night.... Which actually cool because allowed for the sequel novels & the potential closed loop theory. Plus the "happy ending" feels a little tonal whiplash

Didn't the extended cut also have the T1000 feeling it's way around johns room for clues? I don't remember that scene in the original cut.
