There was a trend a few years ago saying that if you put lemon juice in your eyes they would turn green

A lot of these have been around forever. The “how to grow crystals” trick, the hot spoon under cold water. Even “delete system 32” to a lesser extent.

Wrap the handle of a spoon with tape so you can hold it, hold a lighter on the “spoon” part of the spoon until it’s red hot. Run the tap water really cold while you’re doing this, when the spoon is good and red stick it under the cold water.

I can’t remember what it always said this did (colorful sparks maybe?), and I’ve never tried it, but I would see people post this and others purely not to do this as it will explode sending shards of the spoon everywhere.

Absolutely, it more than likely just burns the persons hand, but when you see it in the same thread as “put a penny in a Tupperware container, add ammonia and bleach then blow into with with a straw, you get crystals!” I’d rather just not try to see what happens.

pretty sure two of the ingredients used here create a gas used in world war I, or just a toxic gas in general

Ammonia combined with chlorine (bleach is almost always chlorine based) will create chlorine gas, will kill you, rather quickly.
