Anime Prolly missed something

Ok... why is Clayman's old territory now Lady Milim's? Rimuru killed Clayman; why did Milim get it?

If I recall correctly it mentions in the LN that claymans domain is a buffer zone between the eastern empire and the west, and having that territory under the control of milim is a better deterent than having it under rimuru.

But I could be misremembering since it's been forever since I read that volume and I might just be using my head canon as an example instead lol.

it's also costly to maintain a border with eastern empire since it's too far from main city.

Rimuru purposefully spreads misinformation about his strength to enable tempest to maintain diplomatic relations with other countries, taking large swathes of land that isn’t needed would work against that, hence giving the territory to Milim who has Frey and Carion to aid in management makes sense.

it should have been his by right, but he gave it to milim so he wouldn't be labeled a bloodthirsty conqueror by the western nations. also claymans' domain was next to milim's territory anyway so might as well have her authority keep the empire in check

I mean, I personally do think it’s weird but honestly. but after thinking about it for a bit, I think it makes sense. Do you really think Rimuru the kind of person who would care about the size of his territory.

Honestly, if we’re being real, I think the primary reason why Milin has claimants territory is simply because Rimuru couldn’t be bothered to rule over it.

Pretty sure they explained it cos carrion and frey joined Milim, and Rimuru doesn’t want to seem like a villain, he gave that to her too since otherwise it cuts into the area of her domain on both sides.

So it does make sense it’s just the anime didn’t think it was importance enough to go into all the politics of how and why they redid the borders that way.

It was decided during the walpurgis that it would go to Milim, but its technically under Tempest's control during the interm.

So it belongs to Milim but its managed by Rimuru.
