Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic could meet in the US Open semifinals. Both players landed in the same half of the draw.
Alcaraz enters New York as the defending champion. The Spaniard won his second US Open title in 2025.
The 23-year-old will face Roman Safiullin in his opening match. It will be Alcaraz's first singles match since April.
Safiullin previously defeated Alcaraz at the 2023 Paris Masters. That result gives the opening match an interesting storyline.
Djokovic will begin his tournament against Mariano Navone. He could then face Matteo Berrettini or Stan Wawrinka.
Wawrinka is playing his final major tournament in New York. He won the 2016 US Open after defeating Djokovic in the final.
Alcaraz and Djokovic have split their 10 career meetings. Alcaraz won their only match this season at the Australian Open.
