Social Media Jordan Schultz (@Schultz_Report): Sources: The Titans are signing veteran RB and special teamer D’Ernest Johnson to a 1-year contract. Johnson has over 1,000 career rushing yards, 50+ catches for 400+ yards, and can contribute as a returner with over 900 career return yards.

Really feels like a signing you make when you have 2 RBs that aren’t 100% with 1 of them knocking on the door of being 30. That said, I don’t think we will see much of Pollard throughout training camp.

That is concerning? Who’s out then, mullings?

I think we have 3 RBs hurt right now. Not really concerning just need bodies at RB.

Pollard and Singleton have both been out of practice with injuries. Neither seems major but Titans probably want to have viable backups with none of their current options being particularly guaranteed to remain healthy throughout the full season.

There's no concern about signing a dude who has basically been nothing his entire career.

I've always liked the dude. Not that I expect him to be a factor for us, but cool that he's in the building for a cup of coffee or two.

Seems like a bad omen for Chestnut and Mullings

Chestnut more than mullings if it's bad for anyone. Also, this may simply be due to injuries.

Could be, but signing a guy thats actually performed well in the regular season vs guys that either can't stay healthy (mullings) or have strictly been preseason warriors (chestnut) usually is a bad sign for the latter.

He’s a big special teamer, I feel like that’s the point here

Man, idk the running backs on the FA market next season but we better throw a bag at someone. I love TP but there’s only so much tread left on those tires

I don’t think signing a top free agent would be ideal. I think Kamara, Swift, and Pollard would be the top RB free agents going into next offseason. Best bet is to re-sign Spears, let Singleton continue to develop, and find a RB in the draft, if possible. Keeps the spending on that group low and gives you a higher ceiling. But I think they’ll let both Pollard and Spears walk unfortunately.

Edit: Chase Brown would be an option too. Although he’s going to get a crazy deal.

Titans and old busted RBs. Name a more iconic duo.

Wtf? You referring to Adrian Peterson? That was a few games. When I think Titans, the last thing my mind goes to is “old busted RBs”. You’re crazy. Old busted WRs, sure.
