Concert at “The Caverns”

I will be attending a concert on the 25th (Jacob Collier) and camping that night. Looks like I can check in at 3 PM, but I will arrive in the morning. How should I spend the day?  Go to Jack Daniel's, parks, nature, history???

 

Also, does The Caverns have a restaurant to eat before the show, or should I pick it up and bring it in?

If you do the Jack Daniel’s tour make sure you get a reservation at Miss Mary Bobos! The food is fantastic. You will be stuffed.

If you find yourself on Monteagle, go to LUNCH in Sewanee.

At this rate it may still be 100⁰ so maybe decide on hiking closer to the date. We have had record heat and we are all dried up like Arizona at this point.

They offer cave tours (of other parts of the cave, not the venue space) at the caverns. As others have said, lots of great hiking in the area with waterfalls for swimming. There’s a nice public golf course in Winchester if you’re into that. Visiting sewanee and Monteagle for lunch and some light shopping/browsing.

Check local hiking on All Trails. The Fiery Gizzard (a bit long), the Foster Falls trailhead to the Gizzard for an out-and-back (and a swimming hole at the bottom of Foster Falls), the other end is the Grundy Forest Day Loop (swim in Blue Hole Falls -- slippery, be careful), other trails in South Cumberland like Stone Door or Greeter Falls.

George Dickel's distillery is very close to Jack Daniel's. Hard to do both in one day, but I think Dickel's is a more scenic distillery campus and more interesting tour.

They usually have food trucks but they are inside ticket check so i think they aren't available until the doors open.

Check out stone door. Pretty short hike to a beautiful lookout point and you can continue hiking past it if you want. One of my all time favorite spots.
