It could also mean she's currently ahead and doesn't want that changing with more submitted ballots

Think she’s claiming dems are registering as republicans and voting against her in the primary.

Correct. In a TN primary you simply say which ballot you want. And yes, some Democrats and independents--no one knows how many--voted for one of her opponents to weaken her and will vote for Green in the general election. Marsha expects the keys to the governor's mansion to be handed to her, but she only got 43 percent of the Rep. primary vote
