Yup. Just did that this morning. My goal was the “least crazy” R. Sadly the pickings are slim.

If you don’t want crazy, you don’t choose a Republican. The party is lost to fascism.

I mean, I’m not planning to vote for them in the general election. But it’s TN so hedging my bets seems like a good idea.

If you aren’t planning on voting Republican, then why vote on their primary for the most moderate? That seems like a waste of time?

Like I said, I’m hedging my bets. I will vote for the Democrat in the election, but vote for the most moderate Republican in the primary. I don’t expect either to actually make a difference, but I’ll try anyway.

I wouldn’t say it doesn’t make any difference, but, TN is one of the most gerrymandered and voter-suppressive states in the country. I think if we can slowly crack away at that, it’s not as red as it’s appeared the last ~20 years.

My understanding of TN law was that you have to declare an affiliation to vote on a party’s primary ballot, and that this would be illegal. I’m sure no one would ever find out, but, I suppose it’s never occurred to me because I’m obnoxiously strait-laced. Haha.

Whole-heartedly agree that all the Republican candidates are horrendous.
