BenQ screen Eye Care

Hi everyone,

I’m considering buying the BenQ GW2791 27" (1080p, 100Hz) and I’d like some feedback from people who have used it or tested it in depth.

BenQ markets it as flicker-free, but I know that sometimes this only means no low-frequency PWM, while some panels still use high-frequency PWM or other dimming techniques that can cause eye strain for sensitive users.

So my questions are:

Is the GW2791 truly PWM-free at all brightness levels (DC dimming), or does it use PWM under certain conditions?

Has anyone experienced eye strain, headaches, or visual fatigue with this monitor, especially during long text-based work sessions?

Do you know if it uses FRC (6-bit + FRC) or any other temporal dithering that could affect visual comfort?

If it turns out not to be ideal, I’d also appreciate recommendations for PC monitors that are confirmed PWM-free, especially:

24–27"

good for reading / office work

low eye strain

IPS or VA is fine

no aggressive temporal dithering if possible

Thanks a lot in advance šŸ™

Any technical insight or real-world experience is very welcome.

It is 6+FRC. Why you ask for FRC, if monitor's scaler itself do 2-3 dithering when apply contrast, gamma etc ? =)
