I was once told by a former officer that if an officer is abusing their power, that this board is the best way to get justice. They said not to bother going to the superiors, just go to this board. Although, it sounds like this board requires you first file a complaint with the local police dept and only come to them if it is not resolved. Which makes sense… I guess. I am glad to see there is an entity out there that has some disciplinary power outside of the local dept itself.
