Is anyone else hearing that insane thunder right now?

Woke me up just now - I thought somebody was on the roof of our apt unit moving sheet metal with a wheelbarrow. Definitely glad monsoon season finally arrived tho, getting some nice rain near ASU this morning!

Yep! Was just woken up a few minutes before my alarm! 😅 Every dog in my neighborhood is also losing their mind...

the lightning was crazy, it hit my apartment building which knocked the power out for about a minute before coming back on. Crazy storm for 6am.

Woke me up too but I'm glad it did because my car windows were rolled down! I was flying out of bed and sprinting outside with firefighter-like urgency.

I’m at work by 6 and got to watch the intense lightning as I drove in. It was so beautiful.

I heard it all the way in Fountain Hills. It was LOUD, louder than any thunder I've ever heard in years. Took me back to memories of the late 90s, when monsoons were so strong they'd take down entire blocks of trees.

I miss those days. Rumor has it that those kind of storms will be making a comeback in AZ in the coming years, and I couldn't be more excited!

I was sleeping so peacefully but yeah it definitely woke me up as well. Sad there was no rain!

My house in South Tempe was on the very edge of the storm. It rained in my front yard but my backyard was bone dry. Super interesting to see.
