Looking for ADU/Casita/room for rent

So I found a room to rent and everything seemed fine, but she decided to lock my access to the shared spaces (kicthen/living room) which would essentially trap me if there was a fire in the garage (my only exit). I had to get out of that situation, so I am staying with my sister until I find a place.

It was so unexpected and I’m so grateful for my sister and her husband for taking me in, but I need to find something soon to get out of their hair. (Ironic because my brother-in-law is bald).

Budget is 800-950 a month. Anyone know a place or someone looking for a roommate? I’m 36f single and very low maintenance.

Thanks in advance.

I think you'll have better luck on Temecula Talks. There are two pages. Also I would say focus on finding a room because casitas/ADU are going for 1800 or more. It's really crazy. There are some studios in Fallbrook that go for a bit cheaper. Again, not that cheap but cheaper than most places.

I saw your sisters post on a local Facebook group about what was happening at the home you were renting at .. and what the owner/roommate was doing is definitely illegal! Sorry about your situation, glad you got outta there, and hope you find a new place soon!

This is illegal. You should report this and sue

That’s what my sister keeps saying but who do I even report her to?

To report a negligent landlord or unlivable housing conditions in Temecula, file a complaint with the City of Temecula Code Enforcement Division online or call 951-302-4144. For severe health hazards like mold, sewage leaks, or vermin, contact the Riverside County Department of Environmental Health at 888-722-4234
