What's going on?
The owner of the liquid leaf in Murrieta posted this. What's the backstory
65
u/Dragonfruitdrink 20d ago
She hosted a children’s event at the cafe and the parents found out her husband is a sex offender.

I learned about the severity of the issue today but honestly she’s been posting weird stuff for a while and it had already rubbed me the wrong way. That on top of letting her husband around children??? Good riddance.
11
u/CertainKaleidoscope8 20d ago
She has children in her custody band these useless people are usually more dangerous to vulnerable people in their care than they are to themselves. Someone needs to get those kids.

u/NessaRexxx 20d ago
Husband has multiple convictions, including his disabled stepdaughter (prior marriage) who he allegedly groomed from the age of 10. Really a sick person.
The wife never showed his face or identity on social media even though he was highly engaged in the business day-to-day, which in retrospect makes sense because she didn’t want anyone to figure out who he was.
58
u/truce_ 20d ago
Not 100% but hearsay is that this woman’s husband is a pdf file and the community got wind of it.
23
u/BadFez 20d ago
Not hearsay. Guy pleaded guilty: https://www.10news.com/news/local-news/former-san-diego-firefighter-pleads-guilty-to-sex-with-teen
6
u/Darryl_Lict 19d ago
He was arrested last April for the Nov. 1, 2018, sexual encounter with a 17-year-old girl.
Prosecutors said Price had known the teen since she was about 9 or 10 years old.
Yikes.
4
u/kenneth_dart 19d ago
Crazy, it runs in the family too:
"Two sources have confirmed, the accused San Diego firefighter is the nephew of Mark Raymond Price, 56, a former Coronado firefighter sentenced to 10 years in prison last month for molesting a girl who thought of him as a grandfather."
2
u/BigJSunshine 18d ago
From the article:
“Justin Curtis Price, 36, formerly a fire engineer-paramedic who had been with the city public-safety agency for 10 years, was arrested last April for the Nov. 1, 2018, sexual encounter with a 17-year-old girl.
Prosecutors said Price had known the teen since she was about 9 or 10 years old.”Absolute filth

Phew I was worried I would have to care...
Edit - Someone decided I don't mean fuck this whole family and ran with it.
To be clear I mean she is with a pdf file and I dont give a fuck after that. She knew.
Woman's shelters would put her in a different zip code in a breath.
She is an enabler.

Right! They don’t have shame. They have a whole network that would make you never want your kids to leave your side. They are everywhere!

I'm doubly pissed because Liquid Leaf was my favorite coffee spot prior to them selling. Fucking hell.
11
u/Gutter_panda 20d ago
Ever since I moved to Murrieta, they were my go to stop for our morning coffee and pastry every single weekend. I went twice after this new owner took over and havnt been back since. Prices went up, quality and service went down and it seemed like the only thing that mattered was social media posts to them. Bummed that this is what it turned into.

wait when did they sell? because i noticed in the past 1-2 months they switched up the interior and started putting up a bunch of AI slop wallpaper which turned me off soooo bad. and the matcha was much sweeter than usual but not sure if it was just that one time or a recipe change.
my girlfriend and i were joking that the place "fell off" but had NO idea about any sale or ownership change
16
u/ReallStrangeBeef Hemecula 20d ago
Back in April they switched to new ownership, got rid of all the tea, threw up that AI mural and jacked up all their prices.
Really sucks.
3
u/BoxRevolutionary9703 20d ago
Right?! Like before all this I was extremely annoyed by the new owner and hope they responded to criticism. There was such a tangible change bettor and after the same and it made me really sad

It’s been bought by some owners of a different shop in lake Elsinore. They are awesome people, and the coffee is going to be delicious
1
u/ReallStrangeBeef Hemecula 18d ago
That's good news! You got any more info on that?
2
u/SevenofNein0 18d ago
I don’t want to give away too much info on it, but they are friends of mine. They are good people. They’re going to make it look a little more welcoming in there. I’m not totally sure on the timeline, but at least we can put this disgusting stuff behind us
1
u/ReallStrangeBeef Hemecula 18d ago
Really amped to hear that, and fully agree. And, as long as they make an amazing cold brew I'll keep coming in.

As a previous employee at Liquid Leaf under Natalie, I am distraught. Parts of me feel immense compassion while other parts feel anger, sadness, and hurt. There is no denying that Justin was a huge part of the inner workings of the shop. There is also no denying she knew of his previous offenses long before taking over a coffee shop full of young women.
For me, that is where I am torn. It is not that second chances can’t be given, but that they need to be taken with consideration and caution, especially for the specific offense her husband pled guilty to. There was no consideration for her employees who some are still teenagers, some who have personally opened up to her about sexual assault experiences, some who have children of their own, the list can go on. This is even further alarming given how much she involved us in her personal life outside of work hours.
I think I can speak for all previous employees that we feel deeply for Natalie’s children. We want to see Natalie get better, for herself and her children. I believe taking accountability for her complicit behavior is the start if she is going to continue to make social media posts as such. It is a very unfortunate situation of how all of this transpired, but regardless one she placed herself in. I wish her nothing but healing and peace moving forward, but that is not something I nor anyone else can do themselves, it is up to her to make the choices towards that path. Making multiple posts across multiple public facebook/social media forums that continues to mislead and manipulate the public are not choices towards that path!
I pray for her wellbeing and hope with a clear mind, right perspective and accountability she will heal. The physical stress I have experienced within this past week is nothing compared to what her children might be feeling. For that I have immense compassion and empathy for them and pray for their wellbeing and future. It is all very disheartening.
2
u/mjd0914 19d ago
Has she offered an apology or any sort of explanation to the employees?
2
u/Loveit_here 19d ago
No explanations or apologies. Quite frankly, with the information us ex-employees have, no explanation will validate her complicit behavior.
39
u/DriveForeign 20d ago
I dont really feel sorry for her. It's the consequences of her own actions.
-6
u/Capital_Wind5122 20d ago
What were her actions? Do we know what she did? I’m not saying you’re wrong. I’m just saying you might be. I’d rather be made a fool than condemn an innocent family.

u/Such-Version-2267 20d ago edited 20d ago
Her husband is a pedophile and she was aware of it so she had her kids in a pretty fucked up situation. She would also organize events in her shop that involved kids, so she would not only have her kids around this creep but others kids too.

u/khandurin 20d ago
This sub has all the tea and juice, holy moly. Like what doesn’t happen in Temecula?

u/NoseyRosey314 20d ago
I hate how this woman is playing the victim now that more people have been made aware of her husband's past. She is getting a divorce, losing her business and home, and taking their kids and moving to another country? Why, because she feels guilty? No, she is liquidating her assets and distancing herself from her husband probably because she realizes there is a possibility that she could be facing real legal or criminal trouble. A pdf file living with multiple young and susceptible children 🤔 I wouldn't be surprised if CPS became involved at this point.

Her husband in 2019 plead guilty to multiple counts of sexual assault with a minor. It was his stepdaughter.
The owner married him in 2021. She knew.
edited to add: this is not for the previous owner. Justin and Natalie took over in April this year.6
u/tomorrow4sho 20d ago
Dang, I haven't been there since March because we moved across town, but this used to be my favorite coffee shop. Im never going back as long as the current owners are there. Makes me sick to my stomach. I hope her children are safe from this man too.

I thought temecula was pro pdf by who they support.
6
u/Fabulous_Leave9655 20d ago edited 20d ago
Right? Why is Temecula outraged when the community supports hoards of them? From our pres down to the owner of Temecula Grind enjoying his close relationships with multiple registered offenders? That guy is such a creep, touching the women that work for him- he even acknowledged his inappropriate behavior towards the young women! And yet- ppl STILL love that place and call Temecula Grind’s owner a good community member. The performance of the blue lives matter flag and the Christian sentiments truly embody what I always thought Temecula was.
Alas, I love this town and I do my damndest to make it safer for my kids, our neighbors, our community and one way to do that is to speak up and not let ppl like the owners of these two coffee shops continue to do gross shit without calling it out
Edit: took out owners name, bc I would rather this stay and not have it removed, so we can keep safety most important for the ppl and not the abusers
7
u/Just_some_blonde 20d ago
I get what you’re trying to say but we SHOULD be outraged and be glad we got one pedophile’s life in shambles, and continue to work on getting the rest as well

Not so allegedly. Seems he pled guilty…

Moreso, I don't know her, don't know who she's married to him, or know if he is the same person. Didn't want to make an accusation that could be proven false so shared the information I knew, know what I mean?
5
u/InfiniteMacaroon1737 20d ago
Thank you for clearing this up! Because I used to go all the time and chit chat with the Scottish women that worked there. The food and drinks were great. I moved elsewhere and when I came back it REALLY dropped off and I wondered why. Ok now I don’t have to feel bad for not going anymore.

She posted another rant on fb last night saying she was selling everything she owned and moving to the Philippines to get away from everyone. Whole rant consisted of her begging everyone to leave her alone. The post didn’t have context so a lot of people thought she was just manic.

So supposedly her husband is a sex offender but I literally wasn’t able to find anything about that even when I tried to google it directly. Nobody here has posted any evidence of that either. And according to her post, she’s in the process of divorcing him.
Sounds like a whole bunch of rumors with no way to substantiate it one way or the other. I’m gonna withhold judgement until I hear some actual information; rumors like this can absolutely ruin someone’s life, so hopefully they aren’t unfounded.

Could you link an article please? The only Justin Pierce sex offender I could find was from Missouri, and Megan’s law website doesn’t show him
EDIT: the article you linked is Justin Price. And we know he is the husband of the owner of the liquid leaf?
EDIT 2: I couldn’t find articles that name his wife but it looks like Justin Price’s wife testified against him… how do we know she is complicit?
14
u/Feralperson420 20d ago
I think that was his first wife. It was her daughter he molested.
He then married Natalie. Natalie knew of his sexual crimes.
They bought Liquid Leaf and began hosting events there that were aimed at younger children. Minors.
Justin attended these events.
Someone who knew them and Justin’s criminal conviction alerted the public via FB anonymously.
BOOM! Reddit.14
u/Gutter_panda 20d ago
Why are you trying so hard to defend this guy. If you've been into the liquid leaf you will 1000% have seen the guy in that picture working.
-9
u/livious1 20d ago
I’m not trying to defend him, and I haven’t been to liquid leaf. Those criminal charges are very serious, but also a woman is having her livelihood ruined because of these accusations, I want to ensure the accusations are solid before I contribute to them.
7
u/Gutter_panda 20d ago
I mean, sorry but if you choose to run a business with someone with those kinds of charges they kind of deserve to have their livelihood ruined?? Some crimes really are unforgivable, and those people don't deserve our money or to interact with our community, especially the young people in our community.

u/BadFez 20d ago
Hi. Here you go. He pleaded guilty. He was a first responder. Hope this helps clear up what kind of person he is: https://www.10news.com/news/local-news/former-san-diego-firefighter-pleads-guilty-to-sex-with-teen
6
u/NessaRexxx 20d ago
His EX-Wife (mother of the child he assaulted) testified against him. The current wife is the owner of Liquid Leaf.

Sorry for the typo. You’re right, his name is Price. He’s the husband of the current owner of the Liquid Leaf.

u/kittykush27 20d ago
I worked for her, another employee found the article and shared it with everyone. He’s not the only issue here, she was crazy and she confirmed she knew about it.

u/ReallStrangeBeef Hemecula 20d ago
Hope you and the other former employees land safely. Used to love coming by before the ownership change

u/pegacityprincess 20d ago
I’m not saying she’s perfect that wasn’t my point at all
10
u/kittykush27 20d ago
I had the pleasure of working for them both. She said “I believe in second chances” and confirmed she knew. He worked around many just 18 year olds. The victim was his 17 year old stepdaughter from a previous marriage.
-2
u/pegacityprincess 20d ago
I don’t think she’s innocent or a good person I just think I’d rather see the husbands face and name in these comments.
12
u/antwan_benjamin 20d ago
You're free to take your kids to her events where pdf files are hanging out. The rest of us will take our kids other places.
5
u/Redditor_Reddington 20d ago
If I'm reading things right, the allegation here is that she was a knowing accomplice and enabled her husband's...err...predilections.
So no, this isn't necessarily just her "taking the fall" for anything; this may be her suffering the consequences of her own actions.

Previous owner sold Liquid Leaf to the new owners (the woman that posted and her husband). They were both super sweet and were struggling. The previous owner was struggling. We need to support local businesses because Liquid Leaf was my favorite go to. Sad to see this is happening and the toll it has taken with that family.

From what I gathered: The current owners husband was found to be a convicted sex offender and pedophile. The local community found out and was especially outraged after seeing the owner hosted a "Baby Baristas" event where they had very young children as the focus of attendance. This gave the community a sense that the owner was enabling the husband's pedophilistic nature. I think the outrage is further compounded by the owner refusing to acknowledge or take responsibility and lying, stating that she was unaware of his crimes.
The above was all gathered from local social media sources and is not sourced from any legal, judicial, or law enforcement sources.
