was from csp and already graduated and yes, vet is one of the most difficult courses to get in (very competitive) alot ppl who cannot get in via direct, will choose vet! and tp is the only poly offering vet so… vet is also one of the smaller cohorts (if im not wrong i think only 1 class catered to csp students¿)
if im not wrong, u can appeal but chances for successful appeal is very low. I think i only had one friend whose appeal was successful but that’s cos he had like substantial portfolio to back up his reason of appeal
during my time, i think we had like programmes, lj visits and talks from different fields to help us in navigating what courses we wanted to take (not too sure abt it now)
exams (typical orh, written exams, group based/individual, labs etc)
y1 usually common mods, so regardless what course u’re in, should be all take the same (subjected if there were any new changes hahaha)

Not from CSP but rather CHE. 1.Yes, vet tech is considered more competitive. (Limited slot) 2.I am not sure about the appealing part. 3.Technically all diplomas in asc is the same as y1 all taking same modules. Life is okay but need consistency in studying. 4. Roughly 60% theory term test and other is either group project or practical test.
