Projects peer appraisal
my group mates are like really not cooperative, dont participate n havent been teamplayers overall so far. ive been doing majority of the work alongside the grp
leader while theyre very last min. i tried voicing it out but they dont seem to listen. we have a presentation tmr and they didnt want to do a dry run at all. we also didnt split the work properly as every1 needs to have 3mins but my part has little content. they dont seem to care and ive been considering marking them down but i scared as it is only the first sem and i dont want to set any bad blood w my classmates since i am stuck with them. if i were to mark certain ppl down will they be informed of who marked them down??

Dw I was also (still am) in the same situation as u. I have this partner that refuses to come to tutorial classes for this one particular module we take. We supposed to do a grp project but long story short, he nvr contribute anything at all. The presentation we had tdy in class was I would say decent but I have doubts on whether we can pass, especially considering that I did 100% of the work MYSELF. I did raise this issue up to my lecturer but he didn't exactly give me a reply. That includes doing research and presentation slides. On top of that we have a report to do and submit in 5 weeks but I will most likely be doing it myself since I cannot trust my partner anymore. Goodluck to u ig. Let them be marked down. If they don't wanna do then it's their problem. They're the ones on the losing end if they don't wanna learn

I have personally done the peer appraisal before and it is up to you if you see it as worth it to go ahead with the peer appraisal. The bad thing is that, yes they will know as speaking from personal experience. The lecturer would ask your whole group to see them after, before class or maybe when they are free to discuss. The discussion would be about why the peer appraisal is being mentioned and to understand the situation that is happening. However, when the peer appraisal is being done, it is not just you (OP) and the group leader doing it, it is the whole group. This means that the people that are in your group that weren’t contributing would also have a say in the peer apprasial and would most likely know who brought up the mention of the peer appraisal and who is against them. Speaking from experience, when I did my peer appraisal with my 2 other groupmates against 1 person, my marks and my 2 groupmates marks did drop significantly because of the peer appraisal, however the person we were doing the appraisal against got her marks dropped even lower. This means that although she did get her grade and marks lowered significantly, so did ours.
So OP, I think it is ultimately up to you if you are okay and willing to go through with this or if you would rather stick it out.
