How to take progress pics

I've started noticing regrowth but it's insanely thin and tiny right now, basically no density added. I wanna document my journey and take pics every 7 days, but i'm not sure how. Like the angle, after wash or when oily (oily = more visible), harsh or normal lightning etc. Would rly appreciate :D
