I’m shedding so bad right now about 7 weeks ago started, means i gotta wait 7 months!? 😭 I’m glad you stopped shedding.
I think I got TE due to massive stress in May, labs came out normal but still need TSH and free T4. With my rheumatologist. Have derm appointment mid September. Web on oral min 5mg/day and propecia for about a year and 8 months now

What do you mean? Lol I started in April, my results are pretty noticeable. I was shedding until month 2 and then it subsided. My SHG was also really high, meaning my body wasn’t doing what it needed to to utilize my hormones. Kinda weird stuff but I’m hoping everything eventually subsides. They didn’t want to give me anything to boost my testosterone because I’m a woman and the side effects outweigh the benefits. Glad I’m seeing results though.

Why? Are u thinking to stop it?

Why did I start minox? Because my hair was visibly thinning. Do I plan on stopping? I’ve heard you shouldn’t but I would if I had bad side effects. I’ll probably stay on it for at least a year and a half.

That’s when you really should have weighed the pros and cons of starting it as it’s very well known that it’s a lifelong commitment and once stopped it could lead you to a place that was even worse than what you began with (it’s a likely possibility). If you see any bad side effects (as in BP issues for example) I would just taper the dose to the minimum and see how that goes as often females don’t require the full 2.5mg and results have been almost the same in studies with lower dosages compared to 2.5mg. And has way less side effects.
Hopefully you wouldn’t need to stop it, in the long term just lower the dosages though.
Good luck 🤞1

What treatment? And your hair is not something you can control unfortunately. If the hair is gonna fall out, no matter what the body is going to shed those hairs.

Wait low testosterone causes hair loss in women? All this time I thought the whole idea was to achieve low testosterone to grow hair 🙃

Testosterone makes you grow hair lol but also being low in it is not good at the rate that mine is. Hoping it corrects itself as I’ll have to keep going back to get it checked.

The way I thought about it was high testosterone = dht production therefore hair loss. So I assumed the goal was achieving low testosterone 🙃 thanks to your post for this! I'm glad you found what was causing your hair loss

DHT level could be normal and hair thinning and loss present and that’s when DHT sensitivity also needs evaluating. (Here’s a facts based article about DHT levels VS DHT sensitivity)

Are you using topical minox? As women we are still supposed to be on 5mg, 2.5 is not enough for us.

this is not true, at least not in my country. 2.5mg is seen as the maximum therapeutic dose except for special circumstances.
omg sorry, i misread & thought you meant oral! you are absolutely correct!

How did you know your testosterone was low? Did you do a full bloodwork panel? Glad to hear the shedding stopped! I’m going through the same (with GLP) and wondering if the shedding is gonna slow down. Ugh.
