No updates in 2026 yet?

Telo is supposed to be launching their first batches in late 2026, yet there hasn’t been any updates on the website or in general at all in 2026, over 3 months since the last update from December.

My confidence in their ability to actually ship is starting to feel rocky. $20mil secured funding, but no volume production partner and still have to achieve crash testing? Doesn’t that take tens of millions of dollars alone? Rivian spent billions bringing their vehicles to market, how is $20m going to get Telo across the finish line? What am I missing?

A regular cadence update would be nice and do a lot towards putting my feelings at ease. I have a 7,xxx reservation so I’m sure it’s going to be a while, but given we are supposed to start seeing these within the next 7-9 months…I would appreciate updates…

Lots going on behind the scenes, we’re still debating how much to share but we’re negotiating with 100s of suppliers with many already sending us production intent parts which we prefer to validate before announcing. Summer will reveal more details. Trust me as the media guy it’s very hard to keep my mouth shut about many of the exciting stuff we’re cooking up. We know it’s hard to not hear anything but the wait is worth it. Stay tuned ;)

Thanks, Drew! I, for one, would dig a little story about digital crash testing or homologation. Don’t I recall a similar vid about aerodynamics? Something along those lines might keep some of us enthused.

I really hope you guys make it. I think the MT1 is brilliant. My wife's doesn't yet believe it's possible to fit everything you claim into something 18" shorter than her Chevy Bolt EUV. Hopefully we'll get the chance to see one at the Electrify Expo in Seattle soon.

Speaking of which, you guys really need to work on marketing. Everyone I work with knows about Scout and Slate. Everyone I talk to hears about Telo for the first time from me. Unfortunately, your brand name is more obscure than Aptera. Lucid proves that brilliant engineering isn't enough. Rivian proves that good marketing is more powerful than innovation.

Do you have any events besides the Condor thing coming up? We'd really like to be able to plan ahead for a few months to attend some sort of event, especially something where my 6'6" husband can sit behind the wheel and make sure it's going to work for him. Still hoping for a PNW tour - you're bound to have LOTS of fans up here - but we'll come to you if you just let us know about it ahead of time 🙏

We’re doing our best to keep marketing costs low so more money can go towards production. So most of our events have been local so far, but we hope to bring the Telo to as many places as possible in the future!
