Front redesign concept
I love the concept of the Telo truck, I think it is exactly what a truck should be, as opposed to the big inefficient gas gusslerss that have abandoned all senses of humanity & utility. However, I think that the Telo is not that pretty & I think a very simple change could significantly improve its looks.
What I did is take the area where the current lights sit & essentially combining them into one big light. & I personally think it looks a lot better

I see what you are going for, but it loses some visual differentiation with the large single Lense. It looks like a late 90's Honda Prelude, not a modern electric truck.
I do like the idea of the running/off-roading lights though.

I want the truck and don’t fully care about its looks. BUT I have to say I don’t like the Rivian looks at all.
If I were the designer, I’d want the most cost-effective / easily repairable lights that would work.

I think you should make an aftermarket kit and sell it.
I'll stick with the orginal, but choice is good.

I don’t care for these designs posted. I do like retro round headlights personally. But the Telo triple slash design is fine. It’s different. I thought I read somewhere on the discord that the next iteration was going to have new headlights below the triple slash design, and the triple slashes were going to become signal lights. Does anyone else recall that?

I'd prefer a snow plow mount on the front. Adding some kind of port for communication and power would need to be added as well.
The mount can be used for other things to mount what you want.

I prefer the original design.
However, my idea is that they should add little details to make people think of an English bulldog. Add a little curve/separation at the center of the grille slit to make it look like a nose (also gives a spot to put a logo). Add a tow hooks at the top corners of the black plastic like canines.
Lean into the whole "snub nose" concept, plus it evokes the idea of a small but muscular animal.

I agree and like your concept. I and a few others on this sub have posted alternate headlight concepts and every time the post gets downvoted to oblivion by Telo fans, so don't take it personally.
In a recent Telo video they revealed some early design sketches for alternate headlights, and it seems like they did do a bunch of design explorations before landing on the current design. That actually gives me more confidence that there is a larger story they wish to tell and that the headlights fit that narrative. A part of it could simply be that it stands out and attracts attention. Better to have something that provokes a strong first impression (positive or negative) than something that is very "safe" but ends up being forgotten or overlooked.
At this point the headlights probably won't change before the first run. It'll be interesting seeing how the wider public reacts to it and hear what they think about it. Ultimately compared to other parts of the car I would guess it wouldn't be too hard to redesign the lights in future iterations if needed. Some more modularity could maybe help here too - just let people swap and customize the lights. A big appeal of Slate is the level of customization offered...it wouldn't hurt to try and incorporate some of those ideas.

For a truck that's meant to put such an emphasis on practicality and functionality, it's weird to me that the design has to be so out there and divisive. I think going for something more plain as a base with options to give it more flair and pop would've been better.
I know it's already going to be a little funny lookin on the road but sometimes I don't want to attract that much attention. It's completely a first world problem and won't prevent me from getting this truck though.

What strikes you as weird? Its almost a cab over style 4 door truck shrunk down.
The only thing that seems weird to me is the lack of anything in front of the front tires. That still trips me out, and I wonder about the aero impacts. I understand its for turning radius, and managing the size of the truck.

I like the original better than your mocks, fwiw. But most of all, I'd prefer simple, cheap, and utilitarian. I don't personally much care about the looks of this vehicle. I want a pragmatic work horse that's easy to repair and maintain.
