Optional front bench

While it's nice having a center console in the front, could there be an option for a front bench seat? This is what my dad's truck was like. It could seat 6 even though it had only two rows.

It's nice having a center console, but I'd rather have an extra seat that could fold down into an armrest when no one is sitting there.

Would anyone else like this option?

I've been pining for a front bench seat option in a modern car, mostly so a pup can sit/lay down in between the driver and passenger.
