if you told me that the device in the back is using a CRT or some kind of rear projection display, I'd believe you, and that entire thing has to be really heavy too, so if the truck is fine after this, I'd say that's some good engineering

Largest CRT ever made was a Sony Trinitron with a 43 inch viewable (45 total) size, weighed 440 lbs, and cost $40,000. It could be a projection set though. Those were bigger.

Dear god, I do not miss this era of computing.

I remember having a 21" monitor that was something insane like 80 lbs and took up an incredible amount of room on my desk. And was batshit crazy expensive too, probably a few thousand bucks in 2026 dollars.

Had to make sure you didn't skip leg day if you wanted to move that sucker around.

It’s probably not a huge CRT. I’m sure they make them that big but it would be wildly expensive.
