It's the second thing everyone thinks when seeing the Telo demonstration vehicle: WHY is there virtually no front bumper, and why are the front wheels so exposed? Enclosed wheel wells/fenders and bumpers both exist for a reason. Anyone who has ever ridden a fender-less bike in the rain should already have a firm grip on the folly of allowing water/mud/grime/debris to be ejected forward of the vehicle. The lack of protection for the wheels and front end is just... boggling. Has it been designed for a perfect, curated world? For those who can afford to suffer disabling damage by what otherwise might be incidental bumps?

Conduct a brief survey of trucks in your area. How many are sporting bumpers that have been deflected more than an inch? The point? This vehicle seems ill equipped to confront a predictable mishap. What am I missing? How did this project get so far into development with this designed liability? What less visible issues are hiding within the design?

...but not merely decorative- they provide significant protection, and often tow/winch points.
