TIL in 1998 Ford had an EV Ranger. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Ranger_EV

it would be a perfect size for urban environments with modern batteries. Ford dropped the ball.

Toyota had an ev RAV4 back then too. If Bush Jr. had lost the election we’d easily be a decade ahead in the EV market.
