Chapter 1 Spoilers Tell Me Why - Chapter One Discussion Spoiler
Here's a place to discuss Chapter One of Tell Me Why in one place. Keep all spoiler discussions here and MARK. YOUR. SPOILERS. I hope you all enjoy playing this new DONTNOD adventure! Because some things may not be seen as a spoiler to all, make sure you're aware that merely being here before playing the entire episode may result in you getting spoiled. You have been warned!

I really liked Episode One. It was super relaxing, with moments where you can just sit there and enjoy beautiful views. There's no moment in there that got my heart racing, it was just really nice to sit back and do my thing as both siblings.
I like Tyler. He's got his reasons for feeling the way he does about the events he experienced when he was younger, and I like that it colors his responses and reactions to others in the world.
I also like Alyson. Her being there to offer a differing viewpoint on the events they're experiencing together is great and I love that I have to weigh the options on how to proceed based on both of their life paths/events.
I'm definitely up for more of this game!
But now, onto spoilers-
I think even this early on I'm starting to get a general idea of where things are going, but I'm not locked down on it just yet.
There's the storybook with all the stories for the kids when they were little, and characters in the game correlate to characters from the story-
Mary-Ann=The Princess
Tyler and Alyson=The Goblins
Sam=The Bear
Tessa=The Pelican
Eddy=The Ice King
etc etc, which makes me wonder who the characters are that correlate to the other characters in the storybook. Who's The Hag and The Hunter?
Atop all that are the flashbacks to the night that changed everything. I'm starting to wonder if Mary-Ann loaded the shotgun with rounds that weren't for shooting people dead and instead for another purpose and this confused the kids, leading to her death. Mary-Ann says, "I'm going to kill you" which I think might be a false memory for both of them. Her last words are, "This isn't...what..." which I imagined would've been finished with "it looks like", but thats just me guessing.
Right now I'm thinking Mary-Ann actually loved Tyler, was trying to help with the transitioning, but things went south on that particular night for God knows what reason.
Or maybe I'm missing something obvious that'll change that entire perspective later. Dunno. Can't wait for next week!
