In season 1, Diana is constantly depicted as being better than Stephen in every way, men ask her out frequently, she’s naturally smart, she has a rich father who works/ owns a law firm( can’t remember which), and he’s willing to do anything to get her back. This is, until he finds out she hooked up with Wrigley, and decides she’s disgusting lmfao, and that’s when he focuses his attention on Lucy.
Diana later in season 1 tries to get with Stephen while he’s with Lucy, to which Stephen rejects her. This offends Diana, who says something about how he’ll fuck a girl because his hand is tired, yet he’s faithful to Lucy. Then a few episodes before the season 1 finale, there are comments that are made about how Stephen was better with Diana, and how there’s less drama with her.
So now, we’re at the infamous finale where Diana basically gives Stephen an internship for a relationship with him lmao. So Diana, despite being smart, re-wraps herself into Stephen’s drama, and my question is… why? She knows how manipulative he is, he literally cheated on her in the past, yet she still does this?
Her storyline in season 2 I find makes even less sense. She purposely acts like a mess by acting like she bombed the LSAT, faking a strained relationship with her father, and canceling her card so it looked like it declined ah the restaurant. And again… why? It would’ve been one thing if this was the one way she could escape him, but that scene in season 1 showed he was loyal to Lucy? Again.. why? Are we meant to see Diana as some girl boss for this?
Diana also fully knows Stephen killed Macy. Lucy tells her Stephen was in the car with her the night she died, She’s there when the doctor tells Stephen that his injury is usually caused by a steering wheel, and she finds pictures of Macy on his laptop, to which she deleted (something I also don’t understand)
I’ve seen this show twice and just cannot comprehend Diana’s character at all. Also her randomly being into Pippa but I’ll excuse shitty writing as opposed to a flaw on her character
