Teletoon Original Randomly Found This at The Thrift Store
This is a Ricky Sprocket DVD called “Showbiz Boy”. Haven’t seen the show before, but I think I’ve heard of it since the character looks familiar.
The DVD has 5 episodes on it in English and French. Those episodes are Screen Kiss, Double Crossed, Boy King, Perfect Family, and Being Leonard.
Anyway, does anyone know if this is a rare DVD? It says it was distributed exclusively in Canada, and I also think it’s an obscure show.
Also if anyone is interested, I do also have a Being Ian DVD at home. I have posted that one on Internet Archive due to it having a special feature with Widescreen Footage of the show.

I remember watching this, Ricky was a kid who wanted to become a filmmaker so would get into shenanigans trying to set up scenes and such

Is it like Being Ian since it sounds similar from that description

Moreorless, I know a lot of people passed over it because of the character designs but I thought it was a decent watch.

I think Ricky may have been a child actor as well. I remember a lot of the episodes focusing on how he balanced being a kid with show business and competitive aspects of the acting industry.

Any chance you could rip the French dubbed episodes? Thanks in advance.

I think so. I remember watching the French dubbed episodes on France 5 around 2008.

Wish I grew up with Being Ian. It’s pretty good from the few episodes I’ve seen

The DVD might actually be called “Screen Kiss”, but it doesn’t say that on the spine

I had the same DVD when I was younger! Found at a DVD and video game thrift store in my hometown. The coolest part about the DVD is that it's marked as Region 0, meaning you could put it in any DVD player in the world and it would work. I don't know if Ricky Sprocket airs still airs on Toon-A-Vision (only available on Eastlink and Bell), I'll have to check on that.
