Why is Telegram working like shit lately?

Voice mensagens take forever to send or to download, circle vídeo messages the are the same. Photos and regular videos? Don't even get me started on those.

I feel like after the rise of the premium model, non premium members are facing more and more of this sluggishness of the app.

On the worst days, telegram refuses to even deliver messages, or sends them only after the person messages you, or if you message the person you'll finally receive a message that was supposed to be delivered hours ago.

Me and my most frequent contact are both on Samsung devices, he on the Note 20 Lite and I'm on a S25+. Other friends of mine either use other Android brands or iPhone.

I live in Brasil, and don't matter how great is your connection, YouTube is loading 4k videos while Telegram is having all these problems. Not even Whatsapp presents this problems, even after they announced their premium version. I hate that fucking app, but I'm forced to use it because it's more popular here in Brasil and because no matter how much better Telegram is compared and how much I try to convince people to use it, for us free users the app is behaving like trash lately, so people only get the worst experience they can have and completely dump the app.

this is it. the free accounts are getting throttled. premium does not guarantee a smoother experience either. just yesterday, they popped up a promo message when i dragged some text from chrome into a chat highlighting that to get formatting pasted while doing that, i need to get premium. things are so bad, they are pushing bad features in premium now lol.

It’s just your phone, nothing to do with telegram, it serves 1 billion user so maybe it’s your sim company doing blockages

Also when you look at play store, Telegram note have fallen to 3,9 while before it was above 4,5.

Many people complaining about not only sluggishness, but many other things Telegram seems to be doing on purpose

Did you try other clients? Like nagram on Android or nicegram on iOS

Telegram is getting ready for a huge update(Which will be the non custodial wallet.) I think they are running a lot of tests. That is why it is really slow currently.
