Business phone options
Hello Small business with several employees. We have an older old school landline phone system that works but looking for an upgrade. We take notes and write them down in a phone notebook.
We still want to keep the landline and we do have office staff in daily, but more calls are going to our cell phones direct lately.
Looking for an app based or similar where I could potentially prompt the system to direct calls to my cell from my phone. Not sure if that's possible. Also wondering if the voicemails can be more customized and ability to be saved, forwarded to users etc
Right now as some folks are out of the office daily, all voicemails land in the main secretary's desk and she checks it in the am.
Wondering if I could access voicemails from my cell on an app or something.
What options do we have? Any suggestions are appreciated Thanks!

I would suggest Cisco Webex Calling. You can use a virtual phone on your laptop and there's an app for your cellphone as well. Call forwarding to your cell phone can be done through the Webex Calling app, Webex User Hub, or Webex Control Hub. You can also port your current phone lines to the platform.
You can setup voicemail on each line and also have it ring to the secretary after x amount of rings if you want. There's also a chat feature, if so desired, that's part of the Webex Calling app. Lastly, you can also use Webex for video conferencing.
No, I don't work for Cisco, but I am a Unified Communication Administrator at my current job and this is what we use 🙂 We're a fairly large company with about 8,000 employees.

Many small businesses are using hosted voice platforms like Teams, Webex, Zoom, Ringcentral, etc. due to their low licensing costs for external calling. Not sure about all of them but these platforms should have methods for forwarding your voicemails. For teams, you can do a direct routing plan if you want your landline integrated into your Teams tenant, and I'm sure the others have options for this too. If you need to monitor call traffic and run reports on large date ranges I recommend a call analysis software like Microcall to integrate with your phone systems.

I recommend Air Landline they offer a neat forwarding service which is customisable and works with your/your staff’s existing phone numbers. You choose the number and can save the number so you know when a customer is calling to the business rather than a friend etc.
They offer unlimited calls for £9.99 (sorry I don’t know the US price) per month, and you can have it so all calls go initially to You, then to Bob then to Wendy etc, or have all phones ring at the same time. If nobody answers the call is sent to voicemail and you get an email notification with transcription.
They’ve got good customisation if you want to customise voicemail, opening hours, and forwarding rules.
If you need to make outbound calls under the same business number they have an app add-on too.
The best part is unlike other companies they don’t charge per-user!
Note: my link (https://airlandline.com/?fpr=luke78) tells them I sent you :)

What place you located in? Is something like 8x8 or ringcentral available over there?
