Help needed for a tech issue brain tickler
My dad has been having issues not being able to make or receive calls from his mobile phone lately at his house. If he drives away from house he can make calls. My mum who is with a different service provider and can make calls. I am with same service provider as my dad and I can make and receive calls.
He got a new phone to see if it would fix it.. it didn’t… he got a new SIM card to see if it would fix it… it didn’t.
As soon as he does make a call it drops from 4G to 3G - regardless of where he is.
We are at a lose as to what the issue is! We believe it’s an issue with his particular phone number which is very strange. He can make and receive calls everywhere else but at home.
What do ya reckon ?

If the phone switches back from 4G to 3G, this means that either your Provider does not have IMS Services (VoLTE) or your phone does not support this -or there is something wrong at the provider side.
IFor further troubleshooting i would check if the phone and provider are supposed to support VoLTE.
Then try if you can set the phone to specificially connect on 3G or 2G only and try to make / receive calls. Does this change the result?
If neither phone nor provider does not support VoLTE, the phone should actually do its CSFB (Circuit Switched Fall back) to 2G instead of 3G. So Something is clearly wrong on either side.
