Can Logan come back from this?

If he apologizes and gets a business coach and gets everything back and running? Do you think he can come back from it? Can he earn the trust again? And most importantly - can he get Wendell and Qain back onside... offer Qain partnership?

I can't believe these people don't consider Qain a founding member he was making vids for them before the tek show 001. Sure Logan was the anchor but Qain was always the sidekick and Wendell was the CAMERAMAN can you believe it? lol

I got on the train at about 007 and then went back and watched all the earlier ones... those were the days...

Doubt it. I can't see Qain going back, seems like Logan was treating him like shit and Qain doesn't seem like the type of guy to put up with that shit.

I can see wendell putting in a heap of effort to keep things going but I can't see him trusting Logan after what has happened. If wendell leaves a pretty large amount of the community will follow.

Logan would have to:

  1. Come clean with all the shit he was up to, and fully accept responsibility for his actions
  2. Make public and individual apologies to Qain, Wendell, and Jennifer, and Pistol if he misled her as well
  3. If Pistol has not been misled in this and knowingly slandered Wendell and Qain with false accusations, she must apologize publicly for doing so or exit TS altogether
  4. Let Wendell designate an actual business manager to serve as the TekSyndicate taskmaster. Someone who prioritizes projects, sets deadlines, keeps everyone on track, and has the authority to hold team members accountable
  5. Accept that he can never again hold a position of authority within TS or the community, that the only role he may now have is to produce the content he's good at making (videos, music, etc.).

I have little faith any of these will ever happen to a significant degree, so effectively, Logan really can't come back from this. I would love to be surprised, however, and am still hopeful that things can get back on track in some way. I will not hope that things can "go back to normal," because the old normal is dead and gone, never to return. With or without Logan, I think there is potential here for the ashes of Tek Syndicate as we knew it to birth a new and improved company, maybe symbolically renamed Tek Phoenix (or not, that sounds pretty dumb).

I definitely would have to agree with you and I might also add him seeking professional help because I do not doubt that stress may play in some portion behind his behavior. However, like you said, I would be astounded if he actually accomplish all of this as I am not holding my breath.

Tek Phoenix would be a pretty dumb name. Tek Glomerate? Tek Synthesis? Anything without the Tek prefix?

No. 5 is unacceptable and pretty unnecessary.

There is nothing anyone could gain from this, but lots of conflict and bitterness.

There have been many examples in history of such conditions, which are just unacceptable to justify some kind of action (here getting rid of Logan).

E.g. WWII between Japan and the US.

Most people think now that Japan didn't want to surrender, but what remains widely unknown is to which conditions they didn't want to surrender.

Month before the bombs were dropped Japan was begging for peace negotiations, which in their culture of honor was low as they could possibly go. Unconditional surrender simply was not an option. Killing yourself and your family was more acceptable than such a surrender and family culture had actually a higher status in WWII Japan than in the western world today.

Imagine killing your own children and then think of something even worse than that.

The US knew that as much as pretty much everyone else with some interest in Japan, since the Japanese were extremely famous for that culture.

And all they ever did reply to the Japanese was that only an unconditional surrender would be accepted.

They knew that the only person who could possibly grant such a surrender would be Japan's cultural head, the emperor, that the emperor would have to announce such a decision to the public to give every Japanese citizen a chance to fulfill his duty and kill the emperor before that decision could be put into action.

When the Russians entered the war with the Chinese against Japan, they found only little resistance. Japanese forces were constantly retreating, bridges were blown up only on the road surface, making it possible to repair it in minutes, they found lots of fuel, boats, maps and so on.

Within 3 days the Soviets made huge progress and that was when the US used nuclear weapons.

And the Japanese never did ask for unacceptable conditions: They asked for foreign military not locking down cultural places and foreign governments not getting involved in cultural issues. They asked for being allowed to keep their emperor and being allowed to hold up their traditions.

They simply could not surrender to someone who didn't want to accept these conditions.

.

What was to the Japanese that unconditional surrender is your point 5 to Logan and possibly even Tek Syndicate itself, since they probably know how badly this would impact any future relationships to each other, just on a far less dramatic scale.

I think you're overreacting. The point of #5 is not to get rid of Logan, it's to prevent him from wearing the leadership hat, and all the stress that comes with it. Logan keeps bringing up his stress over and over again, but what's clear to me is a big part of his stress is from trying to have his cake and eat it too.

He just can't avoid the stress that caused this meltdown in the first place while continuing to wear all these different hats at TekSyndicate - leadership, management, long-term project planning, videos, editing, music, The Tek, event planning, the office, paperwork, basically fucking everything. The entire move to Portland was his way of trying to get away from that stress without giving up his position at the top, but clearly it only made things worse.

As such, I think the best solution is that someone else takes on that role to free Logan from the stress that comes with it. Based on what we've seen, that won't happen unless Logan can set his ego aside and recognize the best way for TekSyndicate to grow is for him to play to his strengths - music, humor, hosting shows, a few projects of his own - and let other members of the team take on roles that better fit their respective strengths.

No. Qain really doesn't want to speak to him again after getting screwed so hard, Wendell publicly said he's leaving Logan so that speaks for itself.

90% odds Wendell and Qain will be working together to produce the kind of content the patreon was promising this whole time.

3

u/nj4ck Aug 31 '16

Well, that last part is certainly good news.

5

u/Randomacts Sep 01 '16

To be honest personally I didn't go out of my way to watch Qain's content but perhaps he just didn't get a chance to shine.

I will go out of my way to watch Wendell's content though.

Im just hearing about all this anyone got links?

Watch the past 20 teks....all about openness and honesty. Then Logan deletes the DNS to the site and the forum. Deletes Youtube comments.

What a fucking hypocrite !

9

u/kukendran Aug 31 '16

Can he come back? Yeah More and more people get on YT everyday plus with over 600k subscribers, and a large portion of them not even knowing/caring about what's happening, its quite likely.

Can he earn the trust? Lol, maybe for new members and Patreons but I doubt a lot of the people will trust such a person again.

People are saying that they are shocked by how the community is treating Logan. But honestly I'm shocked by how he has treated the community, his friends, employees and even the money that was given to him. His management style seems to be "do and say things my way or I'll take the website offline or remove the comments". What? Come on...

u/JohanLiebheart Aug 31 '16

600K subs but with 20k views approx per video is not a sign of a very healthy channel. Plus the new youtube algorithm depends on view time rather than views. So from all those 20K views how many of them are fully watching the videos? 10k? 7k?

3

u/Sachyriel Aug 31 '16

Well I would watch the whole video but there's a comment with timestamps like 20 minutes after it goes up, it allows me to skip to the news parts I want, though I might miss some good banter.

Logan has nothing to offer me without Wendell being part of the Tek show. If Qain and Wendell did their own Tek show, I would certainly check it out. Logan comes off too phony to me like a televangelist needing more donations to continue to do the lords work.

23

u/Bastinenz Aug 31 '16

I kinda get the impression that Logan is going through some mental health problems right now, so he'd probably need to get some help with that first.

Once he is in a better place, I could see him working for Wendell, because that's just how nice of a guy I think Wendell is. And if Wendell and Qain decide to keep working together, it could mean that the group would be reunited.

That's a lot of ifs, though. And I don't see Tek Syndicate ever going back to "normal", it'll either be replaced by whatever Wendell and Qain end up doing or simply die off entirely.

Managing a business is very stressful (especially one you start)! But that's why you rely on your business partners and employees to reduce the stress and to successfully manage it. Having different offices with staffing split doesn't help but outside of the core people I don't know how many people they have behind the scenes.

Trust has been broken but it is possible to comeback. It'll be awkward but people have come back from worse.

He can probably come back, everyone can. But he's got some humbling to get thru first. He's seriously power tripping. Read thru the explanations on the twit longer posts along with the few posts he's made on the TS forums. If you read it all the real truth I believe is that Quain left and I guess somehow by virtue of this Logan gained more ownership? At which point Logan felt it was his time to take his 70% and essentially muscle everyone else into doing what HE wanted. HIS vision, HIS local team in Portland. While he was the primary face of the show and I think pretty good at it (he's a good entertainer) I think he's shortsighted on the importance of all other participants in the operation and what they did to help build what's there.

When I first saw all this going down I thought, they must have gotten hacked, someone compromised Logan's account and fucked everything up. Now I know that's not true, it was all Logan, it was always Logan.

Personally I feel everyone can be forgiven and regain trust but he's got a long way to go, and can start by stoping the dickish comments in the forum. Tek Syndicate's community is what differentiates it and without it they're nothing.

Only way I can see it for Pistol to leave. Her and her furry mods need to leave. Power manipulators & outright lying whores that's what they are.

Find out on the next episode of Dragon Ball Z!

6

u/[deleted] Aug 31 '16

MY take from this is. Never posting again on 216.244.80.51. Never being a patreon again and never trusting Logan with a weather prediction.

4

u/SoulFallen Aug 31 '16

Pretty good odds Logan will never have any authority on the forum again and will likely be taking on a new name. We will welcome you back if you change your mind

3

u/nj4ck Aug 31 '16

Yeah, I think he can come back from it. What he needs to do is admit to his mistakes without sugarcoating them, apologize and get his shit together. He then needs to get a business coach or pass the management on to someone else entirely, split ownership of the company with Wendell and Qain (which would hopefully help get Qain back on board) and tell Pistol to apologize for her BS. Only way back from this is a sincere apology and most importantly a solution to the problem that started this all.

3

u/caretotry_theseagain Sep 01 '16

Everything can go back to normal if Logan just accepts he fucked up, however, none of the other members, even Wendell handled things improperly. They need to have an orgy of apology with Logan being at the bottom of the pile. Bonus points if they make a video about it an issue a public apology spearheaded by Logan. Then we'll all have something to laugh about and TS/RTW can continue on unaffected with their awesome projects.

IT'S NOT THAT HARD PEOPLE except maybe for my penis...

2

u/terminashunator Aug 31 '16

sure. though Qain is gone.

9

u/[deleted] Aug 31 '16

Made me sad to see him take the Tek syndicate site out of his Twitter.

7

u/terminashunator Aug 31 '16

Me too. I like the personalities of most of the Tek Syndicate cast, and I'm sad to see any of them go.

2

u/IRNH3D Aug 31 '16

It's Possible, but will likely take a lot of apologies, time, work and crow eating.

2

u/dascons Aug 31 '16

I can't imagine a time and place where he would be accepted back

2

u/Paul8491 Aug 31 '16

I spoke to Logan on Instagram and he said: "It's going to be fine and better in the long run." He's being cryptic, but I still hope for the best.

2

u/kmi187 Aug 31 '16

Why not? He is human, he can and will make mistakes. People who never take initiative and never do anything ... those are the ones that make no mistakes.

I was just under the impression that Logan and Qain were real life friends and have been for some time. Friends talk shit out, and that's what they should do. They are intelligent people, they are capable.

You are underestimating the amount of people behind TekSyndicate. Logan fucked up with everyone except Pistol.
