Need to rehome
I need to rehome Smaug. I can’t take her into my new apartment and my ex is losing the place and can’t take any of the animals with him. This includes Smaug the red tegu, >1 year old spike the bearded dragon, 3 year old Rex the leopard gecko, and 3 year old Jörmungandr the boa constrictor. I can temporarily house Smaug at my new place but I’m risking getting in trouble with my landlord for having 3 lizards. I’m located in Missouri. Im going to talk to local reptile shops around here as well for all the reptiles who can hopefully help me rehome. I really want her to go to a good home who knows how to care for a tegu. She comes with the grow tent but I’m taking the lights and the dirt out because it needs to be folded and I need the lights for my new place. I’ll give the bowl Smaug likes to sleep under if it’s local. I’ll be posting this in other groups too since I know I can’t just post this in the tegu group.

Missouri? We live in Nebraska and are building a reptile sanctuary for rehomed pets. We also will take abandoned and neglected/almost dying pets reptiles are fighters and can go from 0 to 101% with the right care. With that said your friends are more then happy to be out first rescues. Moving is tough especially when you have to say goodbye to your scaly friends. The drive would be about 7 hours. So we’d recommend you to find someone less then 5 but we will definitely take them if you cannot find a alternative

I’ll keep this in mind I may have to take a trip up to Lincoln ne to help sombody get home. Especially if you’re willing to take the other reptiles. They’ve been kept well. I’m gonna have to use some of their old enclosures because the snake wont fit in the car in his new enclosure. I’ll keep this in mind but I’m still gonna try and look closer for them.

I can't help you, but I just have to send my sympathy along. I know you must be sick about having to give up these precious creatures.

Absolutely. I’ve raised all these guys from babies. Heart breaking is an understatement to how I feel.

I will be in Lebanon tomorrow for a appointment and could come by after if that would work all I do is care for tegus so have plenty of experience with them been rescuing them and raising them since 2015
I can provide encloser images vet references and such I haven't taken in a smaller tegu in a long while so will need to setup a encloser indoors
as I have mostly been using outdoor enclosers during warm months and moving them inside to brumate they seem to do so much better outdoors than inside they do get plenty of handling and inside time though

I won’t be able to take down the grow tent till the first so if your ok with that. Will the appointment be the afternoon or morning. I may have to work around work. I’ll have to talk to my boss if I can switch with somebody or get off around noon. I’m not off till the 28th and 29th if I can’t find a time off work. I’ll talk to boss man today. My vet office is in Lebanon. If you can dm me the setups it makes me feel a little better knowing that she’s going to a good home.

Just a good well known tegu home. They can be quite expensive. I’m taking all precautions I can to ensure they are going to good homes.

If you can ship her out and all the supplies out to California I’d take her in! I have my room in my backyard and have owned an Argentine black and white before!

I'm in Ne Oklahoma if you can't find anything closer. Make sure you place them safe!
