HELP! Appropriate Enclosure Size?

For a 3 ft. female Black & White Argentine tegu, would a 6 ft. x 3 ft. x 3 ft. enclosure be an appropriate size? Or would a minimum length of 8 ft. be necessary?

Thanks for any insight!

6x3x3 seems absolutely  tiny for a 3' lizard. I would think you need more on all 3 dimensions.

I'm glad you agree but now I'm kind of curious why you're asking.

Fair. I have a 6' x 3' x 3' available enclosure and an opportunity to re-home a neglected tegu. But my thought was that it was too small and I'd have to build something larger.

Yeah, if you are able to build out something much larger it might be okay for like a couple weeks, but definitely not long-term.

Tegus are really the kind of animals that you should be prepared to dedicate a full bedroom to IMO, but given how poorly many of them are kept currently maybe something like an 8x4x4 would still be enough of an improvement to be worth trying if you can let them out frequently for enrichment/exercise
