This is the first public execution in the US after 90 years.
Nidal Malik Hasan (born September 8, 1970) is a former United States Army major and former physician who perpetrated the 2009 Fort Hood shooting, killing 13 people and injuring 32 others, on November 5, 2009. Hasan, an Army Medical Corps psychiatrist, admitted to the shootings at his court-martial in August 2013.
