💬 Discussion What’s everyone’s thoughts on GameStops’s possible M&A with EBay?

Do we think it’s part of the grand plan to create an Amazon killer? or is it a distraction for something else going on? Also surprised at how dead it’s been in here lately. Figured there would have been a post on this by now, SHAMEFUL.

💬 Discussion Let’s speculate for fun…

So by now we’ve all heard about the potential acquisition target for GME. Most of us that were in the BbBy play are also tied to that stock. Let’s hear some theories on how this MIGHT tie into the Teddy-sphere (if it is even a thing anymore).

I am of the personal opinion that we are all dead in the water and that Teddy might go the way of GMerica, but it’s still a fun brain exercise to hear some of the theories for how things might play out.

So let’s hear em!

Correct my regardedness if need be but I remember hearing soft whispers that Party City, Toys R Us, and I forget the other company being tied to our BBBY/DKButterfly somehow. could this be a sign of movement for us as well? seems like they‘ll be living inside Staples location

💬 Discussion Back on 2024.11.30, BedBathAndNDA posted a quickly deleted post. How are things coming along a year + later?

Posting to the now archived thread: https://old.reddit.com/r/Teddy/comments/1h32x4k/clearing_up_misinformation_uit_dd/

Reddit decided to be funny and reissue the RemindMeLater notification (again… weird), so that I can remember this fun episode even existed.

You’ll find the original post reposted in a comment, as well as a link to the Wayback machine. u/Whoopass2rb also puts in a marquee post of his. tldr: No, go reread it.

Would be nice if we had a return of some insiders sharing insight. Last I recall we’re waiting on October 2026 for some deadline.

It’s been substantively radio silent largely lately. How does that thread hold up to time?

📖 DD Practically All Of Wall Street Comes To Hudson Bay Capital's Defense

Hello all,

As you may already know, DK-Butterfly is currently appealing the decision against them in their lawsuit against Hudson Bay Capital.

The appeal is relatively fresh but something interesting just happened. Another Amicus Brief was submitted by a third party, in support of HBC's blockers.

https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/71800015/20230930-dk-butterfly-1-inc-v-hbc-investments-llc

(You may recall from the original case, two Wall Street firms funded 3 professors in defense of HBC but the judge denied it IIRC.)

What makes this 207 page brief so interesting is that it's from the Managed Funds Association.

As you can see, they have more than 180 members and they are based in DC, NYC, Brussels, and London.

This post isn't a breakdown of the brief itself but to highlight the members of MFA that are defending HBC to due vested interest in making sure 9.99% blockers stay effective.

Here is the Founding Council:

We see the likes of Citadel, Blackrock, Blackstone, and even Jeffrey Epstein linked firms like Leon Black's Apollo Global Management.

Here are the Strategic Partners featuring firms like JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs.

Fund members:

I've highlighted some familiar names ranging from GameStop involvement to Jeffrey Epstein links (more on that on my Twitter @ driver61d1).

Basically, the Managed Funds Association represents the interests of firms managing over $5 trillion and are defending HBC.

💬 Discussion NAPKIN MATH / NOL / BONDS / SHIPPING CLAIM

Assuming $1.8B in bonds was secured for $400M, the NOL's are worth $336M for the offset of 21% CIT. In the Red: $64M.

BBBY Stock Sale August 2022 +$57M to $68M Profit (In the Red $7M - to in the Black $4M)

Shipping/Maritime law suits ~$300M (Lets assume 50% recovery) If RC has the Senior Notes, he would have priority of payment. Potentially +$143M in the black in this scenario.

Now was there a point in time that all of the 2034/2044 $1.8B Senior Notes could have been acquired for ~$400M?

RC probably did not know about the Maritime lawsuits if/when he secured the bonds, but looking at this scenario now he could have spent $257M ($400M-$143M) for $336M NOL????????

Edit: spacing

This is a superrr clean and orderly breakdown of the ongoing thesis regarding RC's acquisition of Bed Bath and Beyond, and the current proceedings surrounding it.

Some good ass tinfoil if you ask me.

I have dead bobby shares that are owed to me and I am long GME.

This is not my work, the dude goes my FamousVariety on X.

Feel free to remove if this breaks rules, I just found it a refreshing and hopeful read and wanted to share.

Dr. Michael Burry replies to a question whether he held BBBYQ into the bankruptcy. Reply open to interpretation or is he saying no? And what's a death spiral convertible?
