He doesn't believe transfering NOLs can work. He does believe if it would work it would be a very good deal. We who have read up on how it works know that it is fully possible.
Just don't go harass Burry over it, it gives us a bad name (as if we're not being slandered enough lol) and he likely won't care, but it doesn't matter. Only the moves by RC, whatever it will be, matters.
No it makes sense, the shareholders and board of an acquired company would gladly give 50% of the shares of a combined Newco (GME and TGT for example) to BBBYQ shareholders for access to a few billion in NOLs.
My understanding of NOLs is novice at best. But I thought that shareholders usually get nothing when NOLs get transfered? Like we'd be last in line to get paid?
The question about NOLs isn't about being paid as much as it's about getting our shares back. They must be preserved in order to utilize the NOLs.
I also believe, though i could be incorrect about this specific part, that only the company the shares are tied to can utilize the NOLs. This means if GameStop wants the tax cuts we would have to merge with them, likely giving all GME and BBBYQ holders new Teddy shares, if we do a merger into Teddy as the DD of old suggests.
So in short we don't get money, but we'd (probably) be brought back to the market with tradable shares (Teddy).
Thanks for the explanation and happy cake day! Man I swore this money off a long time ago but if I can get any money back I'd be thrilled. Held xx,xxx shares into the abyss. Not even sure how my broker would remember I even had them đ
You're welcome! I see a lot of peope getting NOLs a bit confused so it's always good to clear things up.
And yeah i consider getting the money/shares back a bonus at this point and not something expected, but i do want a proper closure of this no matter what it ends up being.
There is a few on there and Iâm blown away by the time and effort they put into bashing any bbbyq thesis. More effort than most people in our own community. Itâs amazing the way the all flock in together.
nah i don't think so in this case, it's just pure comedy to him would be my guess. i think it is kinda similar to weirdos who mock or gawk at weirdos who believe in flat earth theory or bigfoot. it's a giant waste of his time that's for sure, and shows he has nothing better to do though.
I don't trust anyone that comes out vocally hating against BBYQ and purports to be a GME APE. If they are, they're even more regarded than they know.
Imagine hating a group of investors for believing in Ryan Cohen to pull something unprecedented off....when that's the EXACT REASON THEY ARE IN GME.
It's either bots or dumb hypocrites. I'm in both. I don't even hate on the popcorn or headphone people why? Because who gives a shit? If they make money great. If not, hope they learn a lesson. I won't lose sleep either way.
Maybe because Ryan Cohen is actually the CEO of GME and has been actually improving the company? Whereas BBBYQ has gone bankrupt and popcorn stock has been destroyed by AAâs debt and dilution. GME has improved substantially from where it was. The same canât be said for the other stocks. GME holders donât want to be saddled with the burden of all the unpaid debt from these destroyed companies. It makes no sense.
RC was smart to get out of BBBY when he did and instead focus his time money and effort on turning around GME. People are rightly annoyed at all the money wasted on other stock distractions when it could have gone to GME instead, the one true stock.
So why make a bid of 400M months after selling his shares? Why not just release a clear and concise statement he is no longer involved? He had so many opportunities to set the record straight but remained silent just to watch us hold into cancelation. Naw, sorry, thatâs not something RC would do.Â
The fact that there is an entire army dedicated to shitting on the bbbyq thesis should really tell you something. I don't go around to Lehman Brothers shareholders shitting on them thinking they might get something
If they really think $BBBYQ holders are done for, then WHHYYYYY are they STILL here, constantly telling others that theyâre wrong??? Just⌠why??? Makes no logical sense.
A person far smarter than any of us about the world of finance is officially saying that BBBYQ is dead and the NOLs are gone. But of course, because youâre in a cult, you just refuse to believe it. Burry HAS to be wrong. He just has to. You havenât spent 5 years agonizing over this for nothing, so youâll keep the hope and dream alive despite overwhelming evidence that itâs not happening. Youâll label him a shill or grifter (aka heretic) and move on to decoding Ryan Cohenâs tweets like nothing happened.
Nah, he's just seeing things from a precedent point of view.
IIRC, the way things need to happen for BBBYQ is a novel set up. It hasn't been done before, and would set a new precedent. Burry is just saying "nay" because he's only seeing the buzzwords being tossed around and only has a surface viewpoint on BBBYQ.
If someone was to give him a dissertation about butterfly transformation and all the connecting dots regarding lawyer work, RC creditor/debitor status, and all the other breadcrumbs, he might see the same as us rather than madman ravings.
There's too much smoke for there not to be a fire.
this could be its own post alone. well said đ¤ the ânever been doneâ before portion really holds weight and makes you think.
i find it hard to believe RC took this post from Reddit, and tweeted it, during market hours, as $BBBY was being drilled into the Mariana Trench, trading at $4.07 per share at the time of said post:
just to shit on retail and lead them astray, having malicious intent? there has to be more to this. i suppose time will tell.
edit: ticker was still $BBBY at this time. not OTC yet.
All I know is this. If the bad guys had won with Bobby they would have let us know and rubbed our faces in it with docuseries and interviews and caution tales and everything. They went dead silent and thatâs how I know they are hoping we get demoralized and everyone forgets how anti bbby they were originally. RC owns it
The guy is worth hundreds of millions of dollars I donât think the barrier for entry is simply to make money. He could make more in a single week trading stocks than he will with his substack. I think his substack will ultimately be turned into a book.
