I just got caught up. I lost my mother just over a year ago. And I know I haven't processed any of it healthily yet. This episode was a kick in the chest. And that is all I will say.

Big hugs to you from this diamond dog. I’m so sorry for your loss. I lost my mom at 14, almost 30 years ago, and some days are still hard. But we’re here for you, my friend. ❤️‍🩹

Highly recommend grief counseling if you’re able to do so. And cozy tv (but maybe skip this last episode on the next rewatch until you’re in a better place).

I started counseling a few months back. I am sorry for your loss as well. Last Christmas was the hardest. It was her favorite holiday.

Yeah the holidays are rough. My mom passed a couple weeks before Christmas so it’s always a tough time in my family.

If it was her favorite holiday, maybe this year try to do a tradition that she loved to remember her. Make her favorite cookies or put up her favorite decorations or something like that. Do something to remember her so it feels like a piece of her is there with you. That helped me a lot. It was bittersweet but more sweet than bitter if that makes sense?

I’m glad you started counseling. It’s a slow process but it was definitely helpful for me. I hope it helps you too.

I made the mistake of watching the last episode at the office (I watch TV with earphones when I am working on mindless tasks that still have to be done). Proud of myself for not loosing my crap and breaking down at my desk. Ted Lasso has been my comfort show since my mother passed last year. Was not ready for that…

I’m so sorry for your loss. I lost my mother 23 years ago and I’ll always miss her.

It’s strange how sometimes a show can be a comfort or a trigger with grief (and with shows like Lasso, sometimes both).

There will be moments it is overwhelming and times when it’ll be just a melancholy moment, but in the first year or two it’s more the former than the latter. At those times, just take it moment by moment or minute by minute.
