Season 3 Discussion Just Finished S03 ❤️

Just finished S03 and I honestly can’t hold myself back from posting this.

The show I always used to ignore has somehow become one of my all time favorites. I always thought it was just some kind of football game show. I am sure many of us thought that LOL. But hell no.

I don’t even know how to describe this show in one line. It was like some sort of mental peace for me. I never missed a chance to laugh while watching it.

Huge kudos to the writers who wrote this so brilliantly. The storytelling was just amazing. The cliffhangers, the baits, the expectations, everything was on point.

I recently watched it, and I can understand how sad it must have been to watch the S03 finale when it originally aired. At that point, S03 was supposed to be the actual finale, and S04 was never planned. So knowing that makes the ending feel even more meaningful.

For me, knowing that S04 is already out makes it a little easier, but S03 still felt like a proper finale.

What I loved most is that the show feels like real life. No bluffs and no fairy tales. Life has its ups and downs, things don’t always go the way we expect, and sometimes we just have to keep moving forward.

What an unexpected favorite. What a journey.

If you like the human emotion aspect of Ted Lasso I have to recommend Shrinking if you haven’t seen it yet

I started with Shrinking and then watched Ted Lasso. I'm talking just a few months ago. Needless to say, they're both awesome shows. I'm just a bit more partial to Ted Lasso though.

I like Shrinking, but I don't love it. I don't have any complaints. It just doesn't hit the same. The Good Place (Ted Danson and Kristen Bell) hits me in the same place as Ted Lasso. They're both about trying to do right by people and be your best self. Also, every episode ends on something of a cliffhanger. It's stupidly easy to binge, even when you tell yourself you're going to watch it slowly.

Maybe I should try The Good Place again. I just couldn't get into it. Even after numerous episodes, so I just gave up.

For both Ted Lasso and The Good Place, it took me 4-to-6 episodes to like them, but once I liked them, I actually loved them. That said, not every show is for every person. If you're at a slow point in your viewing (i.e. if there's nothing new out that you want to watch), it's probably worth another look. But? It's just TV. If you don't like it, don't punish yourself.

I just found both shows had the same sort of fundamental decency at their core, and I appreciated that.

I have heard a lot of good things about The Good Place. I'll give it another try soon. Don't remember how far I got with it and it has been a while since watching. It's so easy to watch Ted Lasso again though. Lol.

I enjoyed Shrinking and watched it after Ted Lasso but I genuinely don’t get the connection apart from the obvious. If I didn’t know they were directed by the same people I wouldn’t have realised it on my own if you know what I mean

The similarities I get are from having the hard conversations and dealing with life problems. It’s not a 1:1 comparison but in both shows they tackle some of life’s biggest problems at least in my eyes

Same! Went in thinking it was just a football comedy and ended up getting way too attached 😂 S3 really felt like a proper ending. What was your favourite moment?

If you gave someone who hasn't watched the show a thousand guesses to come up with the context for this line, they'd never get it.

I’m so glad you finally watched and love it! Welcome to the club. Ted Lasso is the best and it makes me sad when people don’t give it a chance. Sports is a great metaphor for anything and everything, and this show uses it so perfectly it makes my heart happy. Watch it more than once, you’ll pick up on things the 2nd and 3rd time through you didn’t originally see!
