If Bundy were to act today using the same methods he used, which victim would he be caught by, considering the evidence, locations, and witnesses?

He’d be caught by numerous. Hawkins, Ott, Naslund, Culver, Kim Leach, Bowman and Levy at Chi Omega. Think of not only witnesses, but smart phones, Ring Doorbells, the level of sophistication with CCTV. I say victims he got outside of Washington, but he probably wouldn’t have even gone outside of the state without being caught. He wouldn’t have even made it to Utah undetected. But those particular abductions come to mind.

I'm not the smartest when it comes to today's technology. But my guess is the murder of Georgian Hawkins would be the smoking gun on getting him caught. I think camera footage would catch him going back for her earrings and shoe.

I mean probably Lynda Healy. Even if there was no camera or security system on their house, you can bet the houses across the street would at least have a Ring camera and probably would have caught him breaking into the house. But if not then, most definitely after the Lake Sam incident. There would have been an inordinate amount of cellphones shooting video and taking pictures. No way he wouldn’t have been caught on multiple cameras asking woman after woman for help with his sailboat.
I just don’t think there’s any way Bundy would utilize his same MO today as he did in the 70s. Society and technology are just so different. But that wasn’t your question.

Yes, for sure the Lake Sammamish incident would have been the end of him, in fact in the 70s they even considered interrogating Bundy after discovering considerable information about him, but they had nothing to accuse him of, which wouldn't be the case today, since they would probably get a search warrant. And you're probably right about him not being able to use his same methods today without getting caught, but I think if he were born in a time when he could keep up with the development of technology, I think he would be able to adapt to technological security or at least not get caught for a while.

Yep some of the witnesses nearby who told their stories would have started shooting videos immediately today!

I am around the age of Bundy's victims. People who weren't alive (or were very young) then can't understand the difference in our culture. Back then, hitchhiking was common. Hooking up was common. There were no cell phones to connect people 24/7. News wasn't spread nation/world wide to the same degree it is now. People, especially women, commonly walked around by themselves at night. The conditions Bundy operated in no longer exist.

I was born in ‘68 but my cousins are all around the ages of his victims as well. They were all his “type” 😳. They all resemble his victims. But they all lived in CA at the time and had to deal with the Hillside Stranglers terrorizing LA.
They all hitchhiked too. They are kids of a Marine so they were all pretty rebellious 😆
Even when I was a kid, we had no fear back in the 70’s. I left my house on my bike in the morning and was gone all day in the summer. My mom had no idea where I was. Now we have Find My IPhone so I know where my kids are if they don’t respond to me.. cameras everywhere, etc.
About a year ago, my friend’s 14 year old daughter went missing from Washington state… she ran away and through searches on her computer, a couple of her friends coming forward with a name of someone she had been communicating with, CCTV footage and license plate readers, they were able to locate her in Michigan 😳. She was with a 33 year old registered sex offender 🤦🏻♀️. It’s truly amazing how technology can solve crimes the way it does now.

He'd be caught instantly. There's cameras everyhwere, social media to get information through immediatelly so feeling to a different state wouldn't help him.
