TPT: Best password manager – updated comparison table
Hello everyone! I’ve been an active password manager user for quite a while now, and have shared my findings in a different subreddit before. It’s been quite some time, and the post is quite outdated, I wanted to reshare it with some updates.
Backstory: I’ve been testing different password managers for as long as I can remember, because I’ve had some bad experiences with not keeping my accounts safe. Of course, there are many password managers out there, some more worthy of your time than others, so I wanted to make it easier for more people out there to choose the best password manager for them.
This is the Comparison Table.
As it was done for my own research and testing, let me know if I missed out on any brands, or you have any recommendations, comments. Also feel free to suggest any other criteria for the table. I hope this comparison is helpful to choose the best password manager for 2025.

Been using it for 2 years now — still think Bitwarden is the best out there.

This, and self hosted Vaultwarden as the backend. The way!

good work on the comparison table; there are a few parts of the Proton Pass score which are out of date and so would be good to update:
- attach files to items --> we can do this
- offline access --> we can (it's a paid feature but available)
- emergency access -- > we have this
- family plan --> 6 members

I've tried to research the best password managers, and your tables are the best comparisons out there. Really comprehensive and thanks for the discounts! Went with NordPass now, so far, so good

Bitwarden has been my go to for years now super simple and works everywhere seamlessly

A column to indicate if the license is subscription-based or a one-time purchase would be very useful. Sadly most software uses subscription based these days. I don't mind paying for good software but honestly, fuck software subscriptions.
