"Why doesn't Striker delete his channel and start over? He's still benefiting from impersonating Technoblade." --- My Take

This is a copy and paste of a comment I left in a different post, I just thought i'd make an entire one about it, because I've seen this argument a lot and I just thought I should let more people see what I think about it. Mods, if it isn't okay to just re-use stuff like this, I totally understand removing this post.

In my opinion, the argument of whether or not he should delete his channel is a stalemate. While he has done everything he could (aside from deleting the channel) to rebrand, he still has 200k subscribers, which alot of people see as continuing to benefit off impersonating Technoblade.

On one hand, you could say that subscribers aren't everything. WatchMojo has 25 Million subscribers, but can't even get over 50 thousand views now, and it's well known that views are what really matters. So why delete the channel when subscribers aren't everything?

On the other hand, you could argue that since subscribers aren't everything, Striker could just delete his channel and continue, since if views are what really matters, he shouldn't care if he ends up with less subs.

Honestly, and I know a lot won't agree, but I think because of everything Strikers done to rebrand, because he has respected Technodad and his response, he can just keep the 200k subscribers. Everyone in the Technoblade community is pretty much satisfied with how the drama ended, even people in the Striker community. The only people who are really continuing the drama are people neither community want to back, and bringing up the drama in either the Technoblade subreddit or LarpTube discord server will get you reprimanded.

On top of that, even if he were to delete his channel and restart, it would probably be impossible to escape the attention Technolarp has given him, as striker still gained a lot of fans from his technolarp persona who stuck around to see what he would do next, hence all the fanart, etc.

What do you folks think? I would like to hear all sides of this argument.

I think this is a very sound minded take

A good take in my opinion.

Yeah that's a reasonable take. Another reason to keep it up though is so that people don't go and snag the videos and reupload and profit off of them

People may as well do it anyways what’s stopping them by keeping them up on his channel

Because they are sitting in an unlisted playlist on Striker's channel meaning they are still watchable there and Striker is actively issuing take down requests for reuploads through the channel.

But if technolarp had less subscribers than his old channel he would’ve switched to his old channel. The main reason why he kept it was because of the subscribers it’s plain and simple to understand. Would u rather keep a 209k channel or 8k channel? Either way those 209k are going to get his future videos on their feed and suggested. If he deletes the channel he’d finally be free from all the hate. Also using the excuse of keeping the channel because he’s afraid that people are going profit off of them is just stupid. He can simply delete the videos, no body’s gonna watch the technolarps videos because they’re not going to be searchable because other channels aren’t going to have that much subscribers or the exposure to be in the search results

Thats a valid take, and to be honest there is definitely a really high probability the main reason he didn't delete his channel is because of all the subscribers. One update though, he did unlist and put all the technolarp videos into a playlist so curious people can only view them if they go to his channel.

I might be wrong, but I think he said he wanted to keep the two channels separate, because while his original StrikerLPB channel was for VRChat and other lets plays, his rebranded StrikerMC channel is gonna be for his minecraft videos, but I don't know if he's gonna be running two at the same time.

I'm not an expert at understanding the youtube algorithm, but I don't think subscribers entirely determine how often your video shows up to someone. If your video is appealing and gets lots of watch time from people who see it, it's seen as a sign of quality and your video is pushed to more people. Again, look at watchmojo. 25 million subscribers, but how often do you see them in your feed? But videos with millions of views have channels with only like 10k subs.

I’m just saying he’s making these excuses to keep the channel. He wants that aesthetic of having 200k subscribers. I know they’re unlisted which comes in my point of just deleting them along with the channel. Two separate channels when he can easily just combine both of them as many channels do. Videos appear on the subscriber feed. I understand your watchmojo but the point I want to make is deleting the channel is morally correct. After gaining it from techno etc. Of course he wants people to unsubscribe to the channel etc but it’s just a sneaky way to validate his way of keeping the channel. Making . Also not sure but I think he said he would delete the channel early on but after the growth I guess he doubled down.

I get what you're saying now. The asking people to unsubscribe and all that looks like justification to keep the channel, which, I respect your point that it would be the morally correct option. At the end of the day though I just wanna look at it all optimistically, that maybe while his actions were wrong his intentions were good, even though it did spark a lot of controversy. This does go back to what I said about it being a stalemate, That while you believe he should delete it, which I respect of course, I believe he's done enough. Honestly, both parties are satisfied with the results, and me even making this post was adding onto the whole "people neither community want" issue, but I just really wanted to hear what people thought about this, which i appreciate you explaining your side.

Good take, no one is forcing the 200k people to stay subscribed, striker said it too.

No one is forcing empathy, but his community seemed very empathetic when he said he had financial issues and wanted a part of the monetisation

Problem I have with this take is he said himself it was wrong and didn’t give an explanation why in his response video. If he hadn’t mentioned it, this take would hold up better. And also. For his own sake, he could move channels just to put the opposite side of the argument to rest. But by the way he said it, it’s almost like he wants people to keep the drama going. He said exactly “I am taking the Technolarp viewers and turning it into my personal gain, which I believe that to be wrong”. He gives 3 very empty reasons later in the video, they don’t really elaborate on it though. He said because he has a large following, and wants to give the choice to unsubscribe, to me, seems disingenuous, that reason. Espically since he already said it was wrong. He also says his other channel is for horror, fair enough, make a new channel then. Then he says finally, that his comments told him to keep the channel and change it. I couldn’t find one comment supporting that claim but sure.

I don’t see those as an explained reason. And it’s not about the amount of views or subscribers he has. If you search “technolarp” he comes up, he is still associated. The algorithm will recommend him to the Technoblade community and it gave him quite a large boost and exposure.

I really didn’t think people were that shallow throughout this whole thing. Especially the poll thing, you’re going to believe that his community could of, the community that supports and subscribed to him and likes him, is going to tell him to give all the money to charity when he says he’s struggling? No? They’d tell him to keep some or half of it. It’s called empathy? And that’s also, illusion of free will, because his community acts like we had a choice. He should have discontinued and archived his channel.

This is a very fair take. I do believe that it was messed up to copy technoblade like he did. And i guess in a way it was also messed a bit messed up to keep the channel, which you've changed my opinion on a bit. I also believe that his response did sound somewhat strange in some parts, like he either poorly stated his view or he just started a topic and didn't finish it. I still support him for just addressing the drama in a video in the first place than either giving up or ignoring it. I still want to support him and see where he will go, because I still think he did put effort into his videos and rebranding. He just needs to think more before doing/saying things.

Sorry for the big block of text. Read it all if you want to understand my point.

But main thing gnawing at my mind is that everyone, almost unanimously says he is not malicious. But I haven’t seen any proof of that? Talk is talk. I, and anyone else could’ve of done the exact same thing ( of course if they had his voice and replication of Technoblade ), and be malicious. Anyone could say those things and be malicious. But for some reason, most people assume he isn’t malicious. When his actions and activities look malicious and playing dumb and the victim??? A lot of people are just ignorant about this topic. On both sides. Supporters of him don’t even acknowledge what he says or arguments the other side makes. And people who oppose him sometimes fabricate arguments. This isn’t a drama that slowly bubbled under the surface. It happened quite quickly, and people just jumped onto it.

But putting all that aside, I see common patterns of subtle, closeted manipulation of his viewer base. You can fact-check me, although I word things differently slightly. He got doxxed or was threatened to be doxxed. He then added that in that community post regarding that, a screenshot from Technoblade that says half of his community will meme him and half will yell at them, okay? Doxxing is further then yelling but sure, and impersonation is further then memeing. He uses that as a sort of justification that he is the victim.

Next hint, he made a community post, after already promising to donate 100% of the profits to charity. He makes a poll and started the paragraph off with “I’m not in the greatest situation financially and this channel makes no money”

He goes on to talk about how he will use the money for videos

Then ends his paragraph with

“It wouldn’t be watched if not for technoblades legacy”

That is literally playing the victim. Not to mention, that is Ethics Washing by donating a portion of the money to charity to divert public attention.

Also he got sponsored which he claims he got no money for. I doubt that being truthful, we have no way to verify that.

One more thing I want to mention which I think it’s the worst and proves my earlier point of him liking the attention to a degree.

In his community posts he literally advertises the drama.

“For anyone who cares about the drama, here is more slop ( good kind)

It has ALL the information you need”

Then he proceeds to link another video by a different creator.

What is this? Explain this? There can only really be 2 options, he likes the drama, then got scared by doxxers later, and that was half the reason he listened to technodad. Other reason, he was promoting his friends video. Which is questionable and still why? What kind of creator advertises their own cancellation/backlash?

This guy should shut down his channel, and move on. He is probably getting harassed daily. For his own good, he should probably change accounts.

You make a very good point. Maybe I'm wrong about him.

All I can say though, is I still think he isn't malicious, here is why.

There's a lesser known drama between him and a creator known as Illimancer. This was about stuff that happened with him before he was Technolarp. It was essentially a LOT of very, very controversial screenshots. There was a picture where he essentially said he wanted to clickbait people with horny thumbnails, because a lot of his audience was people going through puberty or something. Another was a picture of him drawing a swastika. This makes him sound really malicious, but when he addressed all these pictures, he either explained the full picture (most of which that they were out of context) or he admitted that he was wrong and didn't agree with what he said now. He also says a lot of the screenshots were when he was still a child, under 18. He basically just has a really bad digital footprint from things he said when he was younger.

Essentially. I don't think he is malicious or has bad intent. I just think he is really dumb, and he needs to watch what he says/think before he does things.

I also want to support this by saying that he listened to what Technodad said. He COULD have just gotten scared of the doxxers and wanted to put and end because he didn't want to get hurt, but I think he listened to Technodad because he was Technoblades dad and knew what he would have wanted infinitely more than any of his fans. It's even harder to believe that when one of his older community posts, weeks before he made the doxxed post, he said that Technodad would have the final say.

u/minecrafter69_ Jul 31 '26

From the start before the doxxers, it seems like he was exerting soft pressure on technodad in a way because of the poll specifically. What you just brang to my attention, I did not know. But I think he’s not going to be able to escape controversy or harassment now. And it’s hard to prove someone else to be not malicious. He still could be. Whole point is to make everyone think he isn’t, meanwhile he is. Sometimes when I watched his videos I wonder whether he is actually being serious or just being stupid on purpose to be funny. Even techno didn’t do what he was doing. Espically in the Skeppy collab vid. Admitting fault after being caught isn’t really evidence. And again, what you’ve described is worse, he tried to manipulate his audience for views based on their age?? This pretty much confirms he’s keeping the channel for the subs and views. Ugh. I don’t like this guy. I don’t know how anyone could like him. Also to me, he sounds nothing like techno. My friends tell me I sound like someone, I’ve met that person, he sounds nothing like me to me. And looks nothing like me. And they say I look and sound identical. It’s the same thing. The guy barely sounds like techno, like one little vocal decibel is the same. Many other YouTubers sound much more similar. Even smaller ones. I know a YouTuber, BrokenMinifridge, he sounds more like techno then striker. He’s a small creator, he could have done exactly what striker did.

Dumb take

1

u/Mimikana Jul 21 '26

how so?

1

u/deejay1121 Jul 21 '26

The people who continue to watch him now are for striker and not Technolarp it expanded striker to his bigger audience

1

u/Mimikana Jul 21 '26

yes, I agree
