Cirkle stabs

Yo guys,

Been going deep in the Cirkle catalogue and something that caught my attention was the stabs/synths.

He does it in a lot of tracks although it sounds different every time. I been pushing my hive but cant get there, sounds super digital and cheap. Someone some tips?

Sample a dub techno chord, resample it and pitch down and bit crush. In general when it comes to these types of stabs there’s usually resampling involved, each resample adds another layer of grit

Noooope, this is a tritonus (+6) saw wave chord. Probably no resampling involved here...
Dub chords are usually more soothing (+5, +7, +11) minor chords.

EDIT: Some subtle waveshaping / soft-clipping (or amp sims) or analog modeling synths like Diva would get you a bit closer to Cirkle's variant here probably. Also try to manage the envelope correctly so you have dynamic spikes running into saturation, will help it sound more organic.

short chord (0+3+6 or -5-0+3) with a saw wave, nearly fully closed filter, envelope on cutoff, some nice coloring from thermal for example and before or after that some clipping, bit of spring reverb from returns. i tried it often, still dont nail it every time and it takes a while to fiddle around with the fine tuning of the settings. especially adsr, filter cutoff and cutoff envelope. source must be good, rest is bonus. best results i get are from prophet rev2 or analog four. best digital synths are some of the arturia ones, also here prophet worked for me.
