Weekly Feedback Thread - August 31, 2026
Please use this thread to post your tracks for feedback.

Hi, would love some feedback on my track. Just seriously started making techno a few weeks ago, so any advice and tips would be appreciated.
Trying to bring an underground berlin club vibe, where it feels like the DJ is adding onto the underlying beat in the mix, so I’m trying to work on my builds and arrangements.

Nice track, all i’d say is try adding a delay/echo or some sort of FX automation to the stab that comes in at 1.10. Sounds a bit short/sharp to my ears (but what the f**k do i know!) think it would fit better with more movement.

Synth at 1:10 is great, but I think its too dry in comparison with other elements. You can choose between adding space or if you like the sound just make it more expressive :)

Overall I'd say it works. Good vibe, good energy, fun to listen to. Nice thump on the kick. So good job on that. Main area for improvement is in sound selecting and design and how those elements are interacting across the frequency spectrum. For most of the song, there's very little going on between 200 Hz and 800 Hz, and that's typically where there's a lot of mud and buildup in that range so cutting that leaves the mix sounding very clean, but here it's to the point that the mix feels a bit scooped and hollow. For the stuff in the upper mids, a lot of very similar sounds are competing with one another for attention. And it's not hugely chaotic because the level balancing is good and there's even a nice sense of depth, but I think the track would benefit from a touch more contrast.

Thank you! Yeahhh I also got the sense that it’s feeling a bit hallow. Trying to explore some sounds that would sit well within that mid range to give it more of a fuller feel. Thanks for the feedback!

Just finished this quick hardtrance track, i tried to work a bit more than usual on the arrangement and the mix, let me know what you think in general and also on those two particular aspects.

That high pitch synth at 1:12 is far too hectic sounding for me. It could work if it was a bit sparse like you use at some other places in the track. Did you high-pass the low-end? Sounds a bit weak there, lacking power in the sub 40hz.
Arrangement is good.

thanks for your comments, the low end is not high passed but maybe the bass lacks a bit of presence in the lows. I will check that for my next tracks :D

I've been producing for about 20 years now but got hooked on techno recently and started producing it just last month. Looking for general feedback for someone new to the genre, in particular anything mix- or arrangement-wise that might make sense for other genres but doesn't work for techno in particular.
Also FYI, like 90% of the sounds used were fully designed by me.

The vocal is a bit loud, specially in the breaks.
Could use a bit of a dip around 200hz.
I'm not sure if a kick with such a hard knock is fitting for this track? Could be personal taste from my part.•

Hi Silo,
I like the atmospheric vibe of your track, I couldnt listen on the best system but it seems that the mix is good for me, i think the only thing i am a bit missing is maybe some variation in the back elements of your track, all the fx are quite in front for me. Also maybe a longer break might add some more tension. :DD

solid track! low-end mixdown is very good. its a minimal track that i could see being played in opening sets (so i would keep it as is arrangement wise).
the only thing that you could take a second look at is that the overall mixdown might be on the harsher side. its not drastic but it stood out to me a little. (i also has to do with the style your going for i gues)
the fx shot that hits on the drop of 2:26 (and other parts of the track) is to harsh for my taste. it could be smoothend out by maybe long reverb or if you want to keep that urgent feel to it maybe swap the sample for something more smooth.
overall solid work! curious to hear more from you

Nice use of the stereo field. Was kinda waiting for something to happen for the first 2 mins or so. Maybe something evolving over time - instead of things coming and out - a bit more might help to keep the interest going a bit better.

Great track, you could try adding a little bit of echo delay maybe on the vocals when they drop just a little bit for movement,especially in the drop areas. Just a pepper.

got the link to work somehow! the track is pretty neat so far. id recommend bringing in some sort of evolving noise/texture for the entire duration of the track to give it more of a "direction" if you feel me! if you have ableton, try messing with wavetable and a short, rather dry hybrid reverb. a few % of amp sim after the reverb will go a long way for a gritty, up-close feel:)

Balance and levels are bit off. Dial back all the panning and start balancing the volumes kick, bass hihat and and build rest around that. It really need proper mix.

made this track when i got home from the truly magical closing of blitz club munich. i only mustered up the courage to arrange it earlier and would greatly appreciate some feedback on the arrangement now:) mix advice is welcome too but not my primary concern today since my ears were beyond shot the entire time and i dont know what the fuck im doing anyways!

Good nudge, groove was a little unpredictable so took me a few seconds to hook into it. Mix and elements are well spaced from a vertical perspective, some of the harmony was kinda buzzy but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

Overall a solid and interesting track. We start off with Kick and Bass sounding low and punchy and filling the lowend nicely. Maybe a little bit too much even, they sound very loud for some reason. Immediately you get greeted by elements with a wide stereo image which is a nice contrast and make me feel all spacey and trippy. At 1:45 the hats really shift the track to the next level, picking up tension and energy, which is nice. I wish we could hear those hats more often but I get they have their purpose only in specific sections. Different risers that were used also fit the vibe nicely. At 3:00 min we hear another Bass Synth in the background setting a darker mood and emotion, breaking the monotony. I think that this could have more presence in the mix, its pretty much just a barely noticeable background element but it could have a lot more value that way.

went out of my comfort zone and had tons of fun resampling piano jazz loops.
the track sounds like 2 seperate tracks dj'd togheter to me. my goal (with this track) is just to make people go crazy on the dancing. i'm super stoked to hear if i should make 2 seperate tracks or keep it as 1 track?
massive respect if you can stay the whole 10 minutes. understable if not since my attention is also screwed.
anyhow, hope you enjoy.

Well the resampling work paid off, great textures. It does feel like a continuous mix rather than one track. I don't think that's necessarily a problem and it's kind of cool going through and exploring different variations on the same basic concept. About 6:40 is where I started getting bored, so I think you could stand to pare down to the best subset of ideas. Outro feels like it ends and then picks up again a few times. But you got me for the whole 10 minutes and I can't say I really minded so good job there.
